Hi Twisty Puzzles fans, Opposition Cube is a type of Constrained Cube. Rods are going all the way through the cube in three directions, so each face is bandaged by the opposite face. Watch the YouTube video. Buy the puzzle at my Shapeways Shop. Read more at the Shapeways Forum. Check out the photos below. Enjoy! Oskar Attachment:

I have been able to feel this in my hands at Voorburg, I love it, very sturdy and very interesting design! Well done Oskar.

Placing 3 rods through the same center so they can all move (shift and rotate) independently is no simple feat. So I'm curious, could you post a mech picture to show how you solved this problem? Thanks.

He says in the video that it's a set of linked rings - something that can only really be 3D-printed.

Oskar, was this at all inspired by the "coreless" 3x3 shown a while back that used strings to connect opposite face centers?

Nice puzzle as always Oskar. There are a lot of "constrained" cubes coming out recently, I've no idea if this is more or less difficult than any of the other variants, I'm sure that some TP members could analyse this and tell us. BTW, I think the central connection mech is based on Borromean rings and looks something like this: Attachment:

Nice puzzle. I'm curious if all the states of a normal 3x3x3 are reachable but I'm not sure if even GAP can deal with this puzzle. Jared wrote: He says in the video that it's a set of linked rings - something that can only really be 3D-printed. Yes, but I think that's only true if all the rings are made as single pieces which they obviously are in this case. If someone wanted to mass produce this puzzle it would be a simple enough mater to make one of the rings in two pieces I would think. Carl
