Dallas actor Larry Hagman died on Friday aged 81 from "complications from throat cancer".
Perhaps not the greatest role model in his personal life (never stopped drinking) or the character he played (JR Ewing) but I loved Dallas and his ruthless approach to business. The younger members of the forum may only know him through the recent mediocre revival of Dallas but back in the day it was a massively popular show.

Are you kidding? I knew him as far back as "I Dream of Jeannie!"

I was shocked and devastated when he died the first time, so have had plenty of time (30 years) to get used to the idea.

You mean someone didn't finally shoot him for real. How sad.
