Is there any problem using lubix lubricant on shapeways products? Just got my 1st shapeways product and don't want to potentially wreck it.

No, the nylon is incredibly durable and chemical resistant, you can lube it with just about anything. If you've dyed it black and you use a strong solvent-based silicone spray like CRC you'll leach some of the dye out of the nylon. You definitely won't damage the puzzle though.

So it's nylon is it? The biggest surprise to me by far was the (lack of) mass of the puzzle. I was expecting a material similar to the plastic of "ordinary" mass produced puzzles.

Lubix works great on shapeyways puzzles. Make sure you get rid of all the dust first, though. Especially with the 3x5x7. All of the pieces have small holes to drain the dust out. Take the time to be sure all of the powder is gone from each piece before dyeing and assembling.

Mine came assembled, stickered etc. Do I need to worry about dust? I'm noticing that as I turn it, there is still some black dust coming out. It can be seen on the white stickers and it's slightly on my hands when I'm finished with it, so I assume there's still some dust floating around.

It can't hurt to take it apart and clean it again. I took mine apart a few times. Every 5 solves or so, just to clean it out.
