I already tried dvorak and then switched to Colemak after a week because it's objectively better. I used Colemak non-stop for about a month and during that time I brought my typing speed on Colemak up to 45wpm but I also brought my QWERTY speed down to about the same. Frustrated, I switched back to QWERTY. This was a couple years ago. If I tried jumping in full swing for a longer period of time would I get results that would ultimately make it worth it?

Only 90 words per minute? You should try typing shorter words.

If you stick with it it will most likely improve your wpm, but it's value ultimately depends on you. It will most likely take a year or even a few years to get back to your current level or above, so with that noted, what is your reason for wanting a faster wpm?

I'm in almost exactly the same position. I type around that speed (at my best  ), but I'm curious about Colemak. I'd really like to switch to it eventually not just because typing speeds will likely increase but because of the health benefits for my hands. I mean, QWERTY is just silly.
