I don't think anybody here would buy there cause that'd be somewhat stupid.

but anyway, what problems were you possibly referring to?

thanks

In my opinion: overpricer, liar (Eastsheen multiple 2x2's "hand-assembled puzzle from Rubik's 2x2x2 original Cubes"? [Censored. Please be nice!]!) and thief (I don't think he asked Jaap before using his pages, or the makers of the images he uses, particularly for his "projects").

What puzzle do you mean?

well this was before i found the real Tony Fisher here on this site... i guess that's why i finally signed up here and decided to get the real info from real cubers/collectors.

the guy said he's having troubles with paypal and needs money deposited by bank rather than credit card. isn't the whole purpose of Paypal to avoid these issues? the money transferred by me doesn't matter as it'll end up in their account by whatever means they have set up.

well the payment went through for me. i guess we'll wait and see.

i hope this isn't some scam :(

Is it secret which puzzle you've bought?

5x3x3....

i'm not expecting a whole lot from it... i asked Mr. Fisher about it, and he believes it's not his and most likely a knock off. considering what Mr. Fisher is asking for on his puzzles, yeah, i don't think what i got from that site is top quality.... oh well.

well on another note, i will be a proud new owner of a Mental Block - from the maker himself. so i'm not completly out on a good puzzle.

thanks for the replies Stefan....

nice to see a fellow megaminx's :D

Ok, that's actually one of the very few acceptable prices since it does take some work. Though, it would be nice to mention he only sells the "extended" type, i.e. 1st and 5th layer pieces only glued onto a 3x3. At least that's what I think after clicking on the picture, leading here:
http://www.ymnichka.com/335.htm

He should've also crossed out the bottom picture cause that clearly shows a fully functional 5x3x3. Clear indication how much he really understands these puzzles. Curious where he stole those pictures from.

I could imagine what you'll really get is this one:
https://secure.rubiks.com/lvl3/index_lv ... vl4=cub5x3

Let us know when you receive it...

yeah that's the feeling i'm getting. well he said he had shipped it out on saturday, so hopefully it'll be in my hands in the next two weeks?

i'll give an update and if i can, pictures.

erm, silly question, but how are the Duane Cash puzzles? gotta look more on it. but obviously they're his own creations.

A few great deals. Need a Square-1? Only $534.99! Or, you could be two for $749.99!

And by his note on his 5x3x3:

NOTE: (I Said NOTE: Don't be an idiot...look at the pictures above. This is an "Extended" 5x3x3 Cube. The top and bottom layer DO NOT turn.) The pictures above obviously display that you cannot get these unique shapes unless this is an EXTENDED Puzzle.

Ummm, couldn't a real 5x3x3 produce all of those shapes? The siamese cubes are pretty nice, but this guy tries to get way to much credit for gluing some blocks together.

so i take it that you think he's full of it? and perhaps that there are better builders/makers here on this forum?

yeah i usually do some digging before i spend $100+ on a puzzle and from what i see Fisher is the man to go on this site... not excluding any great makers here (what i've seen so far impressed me).

Wow... now there's a site with normal prices... (TIMES TWO!!!)

Shocking... simply shocking. This person is basically trying to market overpriced goods with a pretty looking website...
(I am not sure if I have ever seen *any* ebay items reaching a greater maximum price than those of his
- well... except a couple of noob cases LOL)

I remember discussing this guy before. He also did a lot of Ebay selling with the Buy-It-Now of double Meffert's prices. I can't remember if his auctions were also somewhat misleading.

wow that was about a year ago too....

well, it seems he sent out the package (two days ago) and he rejected my payment from paypal - because it wasn't directly through my bank account (which to me always sounds so fishy, hence why i posted this thread). so i think he may have just scammed himself?

has anyone contacted Uwe Meffert about his markup prices? i'd really hate to see him exploiting Mefferts that way, especially since Meffert makes quality puzzles and doesn't make that much off of them... (i remember him talking about that with the Dogics).

update...

no pics necessary... it's pretty much an extended 3x3x3, pieces individually glued on to the top and bottom layers. solves like a regular 3x3x3. i could have just glued on pieces myself... oh well.

at least i will have a real fully functionally 3x3x5 soon!

They show Katsuhiko Okamoto's work. Most of these pictures appear in the Puzzle Database here.

i'd say wait for a more reliable source... and when it's cheaper... perhaps meffert's will restock them one day?

Regarding the Skewb Ultimate.. I did send Meffert's an email about a month ago and received this reply:

"We are trying to re-produce it in July when we receive mass order
as 10000pcs. then we will produce some for our internet selling
otherwise the production cost is too expensive."
