Hi Twisty Puzzles fans,

Good Neighbours Cube is a Rubik's Cube, in which each center piece has an internal lip that sticks out, and can bump into that of the neighbouring center. Like good neighbours, one has to let pass the other. This means that some turns are blocked, like with Adam Cowan's Nightmare Cube.

Watch the YouTube video.
Buy the puzzle at my Shapeways Shop.
Read more at the Shapeways Forum.
Check out the photos below.

Enjoy!

Oh boy, that looks like it would be terribly hard / frustrating. I suspect it can reach all positions but proving that seems hard. Perhaps it would just be better to treat each center as though it can toggle back and forth like on the Latch Cube II and then solve it using that strategy?

Very nice. I think this will sell well. After all, everyone needs Good Neighbours.

It is my understanding that the notches on the centers are not allowed to face each other? Even though solving the puzzle would be a pain to solve, it would still be a helluvalot less frustrating than a latch cube.

Nice, I really like that you've made the blocker visible this way. Looks like fun (a pain) to solve!

Thanks. I intended to make the blockers red, yellow and green for good visibility. Unfortunately, I discovered too late that I had already dumped those centers into the black dye bath. There is no way to undo black :-).

After deleting symmetric duplicates there are 96 different permutations for the 6 lips.
Sadly I didn't suceed in calculating the "illegal" ones.

I am loving all of these puzzles that are Latch Cube variants.
Great work, Oskar!
