I am planning to get a new 3x3. I am going straight from a rubik's brand cube, so what 3x3 should I get?

That's a recent thread that is similar to this one.

Basically there are two sides of the argument.

side 1: You should get a cube that is only a little bit better than a Rubik's (type A or F) so that you don't start turning wildly

side 2: Go ahead and get the one of the best cubes on the market (Dayan Zhanchi or Dayan Guhong) so that you can get the most out of your solves now.

Or just get several cubes and see which one you like best.

My first cube after a few Rubik's brand ones was an A5. And now a few years later it's still my favorite cube even though I have a few dayans. It's great for getting used to faster cubes but it also holds its own against some of the more popular ones.

I have 8 diffrent 3x3's. They all have there Pro's and Con's to them. I like them all for there diffrence to them. But the one I like out of all is..... Do not laugh. But it's the DaYan Lun Hui. I changed out the core, and springs. It is a great cube for me.

That will be the best way for you to find the one you will like the best.

Just to jump in to confuse aswell, as it seems that there are many different favourites out there.
While many might prefer the Guhong or the Zhanchi, my fav is the LingYun v2.
That info probably doesn't help much, but just backs up the fact that you should try different ones.

The first non rubiks cube I got was the ghost hand 2 which was a good cube and turns smooth as butter but locked up like crazy. my next one and the the one I recommend for a good speech cube before going to the Zhanchi would be the F2. Going straight to the best you could lose control. I think the F2 is a good speed cube until you're ready for a Zhanchi

My vote goes to the Zhanchi.
