I think this is the perfect way to sticker this puzzle, now you need to start rolling out that other stuff

The stickers absolutely make this puzzle!

It moves pretty nicely! Much better than I remember your Pentultimate did! Why did you never put your pentultimate for sale?

With those stickers, if you left out the star-shaped ones, you could do a pattern where each cut has one color on it.

Is you Pentultimate mechanism version 2.5 a shells-mech-like-design? The puzzle looks like it glides in the video and I can't really imagine that happening with a shell mech puzzle.
And I love the sticker pattern.

And I love the sticker pattern. The v2.5 mech is not shells. I call the mechanism "skirting"'. Thanks for the nice comments on the movement. It's true it doesn't cut corners, but when aligned it's nice and smooth. I want to wait a bit longer to reveal the mech, but I hope I will soon. I took it apart at IPP to show it to the incredible group of designers there, but that's the boldest I've been. Also, I'm glad everyone likes the stickers! A more normal sticker pattern does not stick at all on the round surface. Thanks everyone!

When did you first make the 2.0 or 2.5 mechs? It seems like it's been forever... and I've been curious the whole time! I can't wait to see the 2.5's internals, and I hope you'll show the 2.0 some day also. Maybe you should talk to Calvin about getting Pentultimates/Icosamates/Cubultimates/Rhombultimates/Spherultimates produced, since he's gotten into the puzzle publishing business.

I can't begin to state how happy I was to be among that group. I've been dying to see the mech of this puzzle ever since Bram described it as: Bram wrote: ...the Pentultimate V2 does use staples, the mechanism it has for keeping the central bands aligned is very novel and interesting... In his post here. And I have to agree, its one of the most novel and interesting mechanisms I've seen. I sat and twisted the puzzle for what must have been 5 minutes with one of the faces off just watching the mechanism inside do its thing. I could have done that all night. While I agree this puzzle is a work of art, to me at least the art is on the inside. Carl

I totally get where you're coming from on mechanisms. I love mechanisms as much or more than collecting/solving. IPP was such a blast this year, what a great group of people to hang out with.
