I'm taking flight in a few more hours and as usual, I'll be posting photos on my facebook page. I'm asking yet again for someone to post some of the more interesting ones here. I'll attempt to blog as The days go by, but with all the excitement going on.....

Sadly, I'm not staying at the official hotel this year. My dad and family were coming out and I was footing the bill for 4 rooms! We had to find a cheaper place. But I'll be at all the events and all. Hotel on the 8th to register and of course the 9th for the am trip......and ......

It seems to be that IPP is every year or am I getting confused by your Blog katsmom?

Once a year Darren. You're still ok. I just attend a lot of puzzle parties and meet-ups. I guess I blog about them all. I'm now at the airport and oh so ready to fly. This ones a long flight 26 hours door to door. Is that dedication or what???

I'm really envious that I won't be attending! G4G seemed like the place to be for twisty puzzlers and IPP32 even more so. Have a great time and take lots of pictures and please post about it for the rest of us!

Darren Grewe wrote: I thought it was every 3 to 4 years for a IPP party. Am I wrong on that?. IPP is held annually, cycling between North America, Europe and Asia. So you might expect a "local" (depending on your definition of local) IPP to come around every three years. As it is a private event, the exact location and dates are not advertised. So I am afraid that "soon" and "somewhere in Northern America" is as specific as we will be. Dave

I'll be getting in Thursday evening some time depending on how fast we drive. The design competition puzzles look great as usual. I can't wait to try them out. In fact my wife can't even wait for that and she only puts up with my puzzles.

I'll be flying out Wednesday. I'm really looking forward to meeting those I didn't get a chance to meet at G4G10. This will be my first IPP and the first I've been invited to as a designer. When I was a fair bit younger, I was invited to a few as a collector but I simply could never afford to go and having not attended I was dropped from the invite list years ago. I'm SO glad to be back on it. Here is a sample of what I'll be bringing with me. I hope I get a chance to sticker a few of these before I get there. Carl

My flight is also Wednesday, but I don't have anything that I can show (yet). Prototypes got gummed up in the works But definitely looking forward to meeting all those who I met before and all those who I haven't met yet

What you really need to do is stack 8 of them into a 2x2x2 cube and then X-ray them so we can see the spherical cut they form between them.

So that's the intersection with the most number of accidents in the US? Where the police describe the scene of crimes as "seriously jumbled" as they fudge the numbers on the police report. When asked about their shoddy record keeping the police respond "I'm just a 13-tooth cog in a crazy wheel working for the man, man"? I hear the entire 17x17 grid of city blocks around there is freaking insane.

A whole bunch of people converged on a North American city today. I got in at around 2 and arrived at the hotel for registration by 3. I quickly ran back to my room to grab some toys to show around once I saw who was there! 3 hours later, after a lengthy discussion with Oskar, Scott (verywetpaint), and others, Roxanne arrived and the party really got going . Dinner with Andreas and a few new friends, then...bed? Nope . More discussions, an open puzzle room with all of the competition toys, and a few red bulls to keep me awake enough to play with Carl's Bubbloid puzzles (and a few Oskar goodies as well!). Somewhere in there I managed a large delivery from the amazing Rox Delivery Service and a new toy from Oskar's shapeways shop. It's around 1 in the morning now, and tomorrow we have a tour of the area at 9. Some people have yet to arrive, but I have already met so many people and seen some incredible puzzles (Andreas Rover, I'm looking at you ). Everybody should clear up their Saturday night, just in case the puzzle meetup is in your city!

I may be available Friday afternoon but am booked Friday evening. I could be available Saturday evening, so that might work. I'm still in California, five hours until boarding a plane, trying to decide what puzzles to pack... Dave

Internet is...sketchy here so I can't post photos (they're on Facebook and I'll link when I next can). Today was a rather hot tour of the area, and then somehow a few poor forum moderators got roped into going shopping. Somehow other IPPers found the same shop, so we helped them puzzle out the Metro. After a stop at the hotel, we had the Founders' reception. Tonight was an 'early' night compared to yesterday, but I decided to turn in for the night when Oskar pulled out a box containing nearly every single puzzle in his Shapeways shop. More members showed up today including Bob Hearn, Pantazis Houlis, Jason Smith, Tom van der Zanden, Bram Cohen, and Adam Cowan. More connections made, more puzzle nearly bought. Tomorrow is the puzzle exchange and the IPP dinner, then the fun begins!
For those who are wondering, it looks like the Twisty Puzzle meetup (other than the ones that spontaneously happened yesterday and today) is going to be on Saturday evening.

Someone beg Otis to post photos here he's able to see both mine and quick solvers account. Me? I was too busy having fun talking and totally forget to take photos during the founders reception. Not like me at all. I talked for quite some time with verywetpaint and bhearn. Puzzles and not puzzles all came up. Today is the exchange and I'm excited. I'm pretty sure quicksilver will be as well in the morning. Although he does have a bit of folding and packing to do. Well attempt to post the venue for the TP meetup sometime today. But can't guarantee it with the puzzle party and lectures and all. If any are planning to come into the city on Saturday, do give Dave or myself a call. If you don't have the number, send a pm.

I can't even begin to tell you how amazing this whole experience is. I know I've been to 3 of these, but they still amaze me. As always my jaw hurts from smiling. These people are truly amazing. It's the type of group (super-sized) where you come in and everyone is like family. I have had more hugs and kisses in the last few days than I have had in the past year, minus the husband of course. Hugs and kisses I mean. The entertainment tonight was a slight of hand guy that was fantastic followed by a magician. 12 seats to a table was not enough and I think the TP members were on 3 tables! After hours found us at the bar where this year quicksolver treated us to a song and it was laughter all around. Sadly 1 a.m. Comes all too soon and I had to go home. But tomorrow....is the puzzle party!!!!!! It's a good thing I saved a bit because come morning I will be broke. I've my eye on a few!!!

Today was the exchange. I was Roxanne's assistant; I helped her out while she was shaking her balls (you'll understand when she presents the exchange puzzle). After 5 hours of exchanging for nearly 80 puzzles, we took a short break and met up with DLitwin before the lectures on IPP history and the Slocum puzzle collection @ the Lilly library. Another break, then dinner, magic, and a chance to play with some really neat twisties. Someone had a Traiphumi puzzle (flabbergastingly, astonishingly beautiful; words cannot convey my astonishment), a Compy Cube, Fact-Running icosahedron, really big round unstickered Pentultimate, master Jing's Pyraminx (Halpern-Meier Tetrahedron, for you old-fashioned folks), Oskar puzzles, wwwmwww puzzles, mass-produced puzzles, puzzling puzzles, and Just Plain puzzles. A new Elemental for me (really pretty, too) and I'm ready for bed. Tomorrow, we get to buy a whole bunch of toys and then the Twisty Puzzle meetup (I need to have my petaminx stickered by then!!)

Well you don't need to beg I'll help you to do it. Please give me some time...... Not that much photos than I thought! I'll just post them now~By the way......May be I'm able to see yours & quick solvers' account. But.......who is quick solver!? He won't be called quick solver as his facebook account......? Here're the photos. Attachment:

@Otis: I'm the moderator for Puzzle Photography on Facebook
Today was the Puzzle Party. I was 3rd person in and spent quite a bit of money on new toys. There were many twisties (I was surprised to find this) and the general feeling in the room was one of being punched in the brain. You had puzzles coming at you from all angles; everyone was selling and yelling. After around 4 hours I could not convince myself to buy any more puzzles so I left to sticker my Petaminx. I figure that I should probably post photos:
