The speed solving methods are much more efficient, you move the cube about half as much as you do with basic methods.

If your fingers move at the same speed, this makes it twice as fast.


Jessica Fridrich's has a lot of interesting info, but speedcubing.com has the notations for variaous orientations of the cube.

aproximately the number of moves divided by 3 and then add a few seconds for identification...

this is going on an average of 50 moves in around 17-18 seconds (based on fridrich's average)
