I agree they don't need to be judged, but they can't get rid of two without adding two. I want my 48 cube to be added to the list. Solves could be measured in days But seriously they should add more puzzles.

WWWWWWWHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
The good thing about magics were they we're MUCH easier to improve your times on then a normal cube. Also, you dn't need to practice with it for months to start getting your times down. If they are going to do this, they would add Gigaminx and mixup plus or gear cube.
Edit: Or that one.

I agree with this completely... they were just a test of how fast you could flip without breaking the strings. Don't get me wrong, I like magic puzzles, but I've never thought they belong in competitions. Tony Fisher wrote: Blind fold Golden Cube, no inspection, feel only. That gets my vote

Instead of just going from one solve state to the other I always thought these competitions would be much more interesting if they started from a real scrambled state.

I was attempting a no inspection blind solve of the bump cube and gave up after a while. I need a lot more practice on that. I would like to see that one.

They won't add anything as far as I know. If at all, I think skewb would be the most reasonable puzzle.

Can't say I'm too upset they removed them, they should add Mirror Blocks, Skewb and 8x8. As much as I like the Gear Cube, it's to restricted on the way you can scramble it, and they will never add the Gigaminx it takes way to long to solve.

8x8 doesn't seem like a good candidate to me right now. For one, not too many people have one. I go to competitions and see maybe 2 or 3 there out of 30+ people. Also, they're expensive. Every WCA category right now can be entered with a puzzle that costs <$30. The 8x8 is more than $80.
There are a decent amount of sub-10 8x8 solves on YouTube, though (Dan Cohen got like sub 7, I believe), so maybe in a few years if it's reached the 7x7's popularity it might get added to the list...

Not true, with some practice you can get sub 10, like Kapusta said, there is a sub 7 solve on youtube. Kapusta wrote: . Also, they're expensive. Where can you find a 7x7 under $30? There is no way a V-Cube is under 30 and after looking at every puzzle store the lowest I could find a cubic one was like $32. Also the price of 8x8 went down alot if you look around, I got my for $50 free shipping.

I don’t think WCA should endorse illegal cubes in competition.

I don’t think WCA should endorse illegal cubes in competition. I'm pretty sure all WCA solves have to be under 10 minutes. There is 1 video on youtube of someone solve a Gigaminx in under 10 minutes, not very many people would be able to enter. I'm not hating on the Gigaminx, I just don't believe it's a good event to add.
