This is a puzzle I had printed in 2010 and then set aside as I slipped into a work-related coma since then. But I finally put it all together and thought I should share it, even though it's just a shape mod of my Pentultimate (version 2.5 mech). My Pentulimate design is already large, but extensions to make it cubical make for a very large puzzle. It's about 4.25 inches on an edge, or 108 mm! This shape mod would have to happen eventually I think, but I believe it was first suggested by Robert Webb about 10 years ago on this forum. Thanks for looking! -Jason

I love the cut pattern on the cube faces. If the add-ons are hollow, just fill them with lead shot so you can have a work-out while solving Any chance of a video?

Just beautiful Jason.. Adding confusion to a confusing puzzle. The Pentultimate centres now have orientation. One thing I can't make out.. the small triangles must have shape shifting orientation, don't they? EDIT: I just looked again.. Yes, they do .

Amazing! The penultimate is great because of what's on the inside but this is a sweet puzzle from the outside too. My second favorite transformation, right behind the hexaminx.
+1 for video

I know this is not the first shape variant of a Pentultimate but I fear the day when such shape variants become normal.
What does it weigh?

This is really cool. It’s also cool if you look at the cuts compared to this puzzle Eitan made. It’s too bad it took 2 years to make.

So, in order:
-The Cubic Megaminx (Hexaminx) -The Cubic Pyraminx Crystal (Hexaminx Crystal) -The Cubic Master Pentultimate (Master Heximate) And now, the Cubic Pentultimate (Cubeultimate)
All that's left, really, is the Cubic Starminx.

Thanks everyone!
Yeah it's a shame I didn't get to it earlier, but the parts just sat there until I could get back to it again.
I'll try to get a video, but I may just to it when it's recapped as a pentultimate. I never had one for myself in my latest design and this has some new mech tweaks. I'm excited about the movement quality!

Very nice! I actually have a CAD model of this sitting on my computer at home, waiting to be toleranced and filleted. But it is fitting that the guy who first made the Pentultimate should make the Cubeultimate as well.

I wish this gets mass produced (preferably downsized a bit) Amazingly beautiful piece of work.
