Nice to see somebody remade the terasnake, was that by twisting or disassembling? How long did it take you?

The Master Skewb Minx (why not Master Skewb Ultimate?) would make a good candidate for my first Shapeways purchase, if you were to make it available.

Because I got some question for the 3x3 burger:
I found it last Saturday on the GCD by a dealer from the Netherlands. It is looking like a mass produced one.

I didn't made phtotos of your pyramid and the HexBlock. I didn't photograph the others as well but I already have images of them.
Can you upload some images?

Very cool!
The Great Icosahedron is indeed a first-time-shape. Why did you made it with a 2x2x2 as core? A megaminx or a skewb would have lead to a non-shape-changing puzzle? Why has the Triakis tetrahedron an orange body? PLEASE post images of #8 and #9 with stickers on it.

Andreas, you are the only person who has interests in this shapes.
I use the 2x2x2 core only for validation of the shapes. I am a newbie in CAD and check with this the correct cuts and angles of the mathematical solids.
To transform the core into a Skewb or Rex or 3x3x3 will take less than 10 minutes. It is only one scaling (12.15 up to 28.5) process and 4 new cuts.
I am testing the possibility of color printing with this solids. You will see a lot of more in a lot of special colors in the next weeks. I don't sticker them.

Andreas Nortmann wrote: clauswe wrote: Andreas, you are the only person who has interests in this shapes. Does anybody want to proove him wrong? I love the shape of the orange one. I also collect dice and I know the triakis tetrahedron is a fair dice shape. Here as its applied to a 2x2x2 I like how this could be stickered with 6 colors and look like a normal 2x2x2 with a raised ridge through the center of each face. Or you could sticker this with 4 colors and have a Pyramorphix with a peak in the center of each face. And I even like the orange color. The puzzle collector in me (which tries to keep me from going broke) tells me this is just a 2x2x2 and nothing new. But I'm just as big a fan of geometry and I, like clauswe, would be tempted to leave this unstickered and just play with it to see all the interesting shapes I could turn it into. I even like the texture the printing process has left on the surface of that one. I'm pretty sure that wasn't printed on Shapeways. Clauswe, do you have your own 3D printer? What type of material are these printed in? Carl

And once again: The puzzles which are really interesting (because I do not own them) are the ones you haven't stickered. Claus, you are unfair!
Why designed you the tips for the medial RT so long? Why not the "traditional" length?

Andreas Nortmann wrote: Why designed you the tips for the medial RT so long? Why not the "traditional" length? The length of the tips for a medial rhombic triacontahedron is more than "traditional", they are defined specifically by the way the planes of a triacontahedron intersect when stellated. This means that if the tips are a different length, it is not a medial rhombic triacontahedron, it is a different shape entirely. (perhaps that is why you put it in quotes, I'm not sure) It looks much closer to a Medial Triambic Icosahedron instead (a stellation of the icosahedron), but I can't tell for sure from this picture alone if the angles are accurate for that either.

I made a mistake by cutting the cube into a Medial Rhombic, two wrong cutting point. The result was this. The lenght of the tips are the same as the tips on a dedecahedron.
This is the reason to make only 3d-print masters for a mini 2x2. This is a cheap way to check the design.

Why have to colored the nova block like this? The different colors make it impossible to solve because I can't tell the "solved" position.

I actually like the looks of it as is. It's solved when its in the shape of a Nonagon Prism. Think if its as a Golden Cube where the color doesn't have anything to do with the solving. Which makes me think of an interesting experiment. Say you have a group of people that can solve the Golden Cube. Give each one of them a scrampled Golden Cube where each piece is covered with golden stickers. Also give them one where each piece of the Golden Cube is molded in a different colored plastic. Which would be easier to solve? And why? I'm guessing the different colors could prove a big enough distraction that it would appear noticably harder. Carl

I like those master skewb transformations alot! I tried designing the icosahedron a while back but I couldnt really find a suiting size/ cut proportionality to make it. Some areas were too small to sticker.
When will these add-ons be available for purchase? I would like to buy all of them! probably also the tetra.

Very good. Once again. I like the first stellation of icosahedron very much because it optimizes a gap already filled. Up to today I used Tony's Nesting Cubes as representative for this solid although it does not perfectly match. clauswe wrote: I need this for a combined puzzle I can't wait to see the result. I assume your Medial RT is massive . Otherwise its weight wouldn't be that high, right?

Funnily I wrote the description for the truncated Triakis Tetrahedron some minutes ago. The means I reread your sentence "I need it for a combined image". I wondered which combination this mgith be. Thank you for giving me the answer.
