I can't grow a mustache for the life of me, but my hand has been broken and in a cast, and when I got it off today for x-rays I immediately noticed that my right arm was a LOT hairier than my left, which I can only assume was my body's way of reacting to constant friction.

My hypothesis is that if I apply this concept to my upper lip by constantly rubbing it (it won't take long for me to start doing it involuntarily) I will grow a decent mustache that doesn't look creepy. I'll post results.

Nice idea!! But you have it the wrong way around. The hair grew on your arm because under the cast there was less rubbing of the skin and so the normal friction induced hair turnover didn't occur. People who have there leg and foot in plaster will also notice that the skin on the sole of their foot gets much thicker because of the same process.

So to make your idea correct - you actually need to put a plaster cast on your top lip! This is unlikely to stay put so you actually need to encase your whole head in plaster - for about 6-8 weeks!!

Now this I would love to see the results of!

It's also that exposed hair becomes less visible as it gets bleached while the skin gets darker in sunlight, while hair that is covered remains dark on a lighter skin.

I read this earlier, and have since been laughing to myself everytime I think about it !

You guys have it all wrong! All you need to do to grow hair is to wax! I'm telling you. Wax that puppy and when the hair comes back in I swear to all that I hold holy it comes in double thick!

Men are so silly some times...just rip your hair out if you want it to grow. (Don't you know anything?)
