This is my latest puzzle, the Flim-Flam Cube:




It was designed in SketchUp, printed by Shapeways in WSF, dyed using RIT dye, stickers by Oliver's Stickers. It is 93 x 75 x 75mm and weighs 188g.

Quiz Question: Why did I call it the Flim-Flam Cube?

Hey guys, sorry that you did not pick up on the name of this puzzle

Flim-flam: A deception, a swindle.

You see, this cube is not fully functional as suggested by the design, but it a shape mod of a Rubik's 2x2x4 cube. I was going to do this:
To make a 2x2x4 Cross Slab, but I decided to do something different. So I extended the pieces somewhat, and added the lines to suggest that the resulting cube could turn on the orthogonal vertical axes as well. It seemed this ruse worked too well
So, the answer is no I only wish I could design this cube fully functional - maybe someone else could have a go?

I was about to ask the same question as Traiphum.
Very good images for a very good illusion-like puzzle.

I was obviously too subtle with my puzzle name, I thought that all you clever TP members would have exposed my ruse straight away

And I was going to make the real version of this too...

Oh well.
