So I had this idea today while solving my rex cube. If you could take a rex cube design, and turn it like a helicopter cube. The pieces would move like this:. So that's two "center" (middle squares) pieces, four triangle pieces, and one "edge" piece (true center piece). I was going to try to make it by putting rex cube pieces on the helicopter cube core, but then realized that the rex cube pieces were to small! I considered truncating the center piece, but then realized that it wouldn't help the problem. However, doing that would help the fact that the false center piece (the middle square) is too big! So I would need to truncate the center pieces, and extend the triangle pieces.
Any thoughts? Ideas?

You'd have to design this puzzle in CAD, if it's even possible. The cuts on the Rex Cube are really extreme, and I doubt that they could be used to make an edge turning puzzle. There are also eight arms on the Rex Cube core, not six. Personally I doubt this idea will ever work.

Physically it seems unlikely.

Solving-wise, it behaves an a corner-less Curvy Copter + CCII centers. A really trivial solve. See Gelatinbrain's 3.3.32 + the centers from 3.3.8.
