I think so. It is simple enough to be solved quickly and it is popular/lots of people own them.

While it isn't actually a Rubik's product, I do think it's common enough that it should be included. I would say if it is included, the Pyraminx should be included as well.

Looks like last year the WCA didn't really want to make any huge changes, but there's definitely been interest in skewb for a while. This could be the year.

I think there are more than enough events on competitions.
and the skewb is too easy puzzle to solve. There is a large chance of lucky case, and I hate those events what can only be won by luck!

Can anyone help me get together the petition? I'm still going to let the poll run, but it seems like almost everyone wants this event.

About skewb, personally it is not my favourite puzzle, but I think it would fit in in competitions.

I've never owned a skewb puzzle that could survive speedcubing without shattering into several chunks.

Then you probably have never owned a legitimate one. The Mefferts Skewb is pretty good.

This was discussed last October in BK. It is my understanding that if the Skewb were made a competition puzzle something else would have to go. Which should it be? 7^7? 3^3? Megaminx??? Or how about blindfold solving?

3x3 with feet, or the magics could go. I think that if for no other reason, blindfolded should stay because it gets a lot of publicity. some people solve skewb unofficially and they enjoy it, and it was an official event a while back. I don't really like it because it's deep cut and that makes it awkward to solve.

Feet solving should go I think.

Easy to pick some events that is not enough fun anymore:
-Magic
-Master Magic
-Clock (the original is not mass produced anymore, and the new KO ones are not quite good)
-SQ-1 (not Rubik)
-Megaminx (not Rubik)
-7x7x7 (too large for a competition, and takes lot of time from the time table.)

Will not go, but there is a large part of luck in the good times:
-Pyraminx
-2x2x2
-3x3x3


Feet solve must remain. It gets publicity.

-Team BLD
-Team solve (1 turn / competitor)

Yes, but it should NOT replace the magic.

Why does anything have to go? I've never been a fan of magic or clock since they aren't twisty puzzles, but you don't usually have EVERY event at each competition. Plus, skewb does not take that long to solve.
P.S. Does anyone know how to help get together a petition for WCA?

I only own genuine Meffert's skewbs. Bought in official boxes. They still popped whenever I attempted a solve in less than a minute.
