I finally got the chance today to make this picture. The stag beetle is holding Evgeniy Grigoriev's 10mm Rubik's Cube. I have wanted to get a picture like this for a long time. I figured I'd better video it as well to prove the beetle was alive and I hadn't used Photoshop or cheated in any way. The beetle was a bit sleepy and only grabbed it for a few seconds. Next time give it a scrambled one and see if that will cheer it up a bit. Well, by scrambled I mean one U turn or R turn away from solved station.

If only you knew what I could have posted and the things I have tried to set up but so far failed to do! I have always wanted to make one of those iconic photos you stumble upon all the time on the internet. Just a shame it's a fairly low quality video grab. The darn thing wouldn't co-operate long enough for me to get a decent stills picture. For those wondering the beetle is now enjoying it's freedom some where in the undergrowth of my garden hopefully not to traumatised.
