Okay. Here's the scenario --

You're going on a trip. You have a plane flight, some downtime while there, etc. You have limited space for "toys", and thus can only carry three twisty/cube-type puzzles with you. Which ones do you bring with you? (whether you own them or not.)

Personally, here's my list so far (from my very modest collection)

  • Dayan ZhanChi 3x3x3
  • WitEden 3x3x9
  • ? 3x3x2? WitEden 2x2x2? Not sure...

(and yes, i'm going on a business trip in a week or so, and have been thinking about this a lot. ;) )

First, my two favorite puzzles to solve:

Pyraminx Crystal
Professor Pyraminx

And the third would probably have to be something I've never solved, like my Quirky Cube or a Masterball.

Great topic! :D

My 3 would be:
Crazy 4x4 II
TomZ & Mf8 3x4x5 cuboid
4x4x4 supercube

I reserve the right to change my mind at zero notice and to smuggle some extras onboard!
I have ordered some of the crazy 3x3 plus cubes and may add one of them!

3x3 and Starminx definitely, and then either 7x7 or 2x2 depending on my mood.

I'm currently in a trip. I'm taking exactly three cubes: Zhanchi 3x3x3, and Eric Vergo's Child's Play, which consists of two 2x2x2's.

I'd take TomZ's Multi-Dodecahedron (which I still haven't successfully solved)

I'd also take Eric Vergo's Unbandaged Rhomdo (which I haven't fully figured out how to solve)

And finally I'd take Eric Vergo's Unbandaged Helicopter Cube which has some really crazy jumbling and offers a new challenge every scramble.

You should have seen the X-ray of my bag when travelling to G4G. There were some 50 puzzles in there, and all the screws made a very pretty arrangement on the screen. No questions asked though.

If I was going to a puzzle meeting I'd currently bring the Multidodecahedron, 4x4x6 and one unannounced puzzle. If I had to bring puzzles purely for my own enjoyment then I'd bring a regular 3x3x3, Dino 3x3x3 or SuperX and (again) the 4x4x6.

I will be away from my home - and the Internet - for three weeks very soon.
I'll allow myself to take four twisty puzzles with me
- Pentultimate (Mini from TomZ)
- Crazy 3x3x3 Saturn
- Bermuda Mars
- 3x3x3

It must be the time for travel.

I'm off for conferences in April, June, and August. A couple of weeks worth of travel all in all. I have decided to pack a Hanayama, a packing puzzle I have not been able to solve yet (or one I haven't attempted yet), One of Eric Fuller's creations because they are just so cool, and a tray puzzle. Of course, there must be a twisty in there, and I guess it will be SmaZ's Time machine. I haven't managed to solve that yet after all this time so It might as well go with me.

Puzzles should be like the American Express card...never leave home without them.

I really shouldn't be answering this question because I don't have a variety of puzzles (just the mainly the normal ones). But right now, I would bring my Bermuda Cube, Curvy Copter and Rubik's Rings.

On that note, I remembered bringing back about 20 puzzles. When it went through a scanner, they "somehow" saw it as a potential bomb. So they asked me to open it up and I just showed them it was just some puzzles. Then one of them wanted to play with them...
