My bug and I are running a race for funding for cancer research next Sunday. She's raising money as part of her giving back to the community (part of her school program-she volunteers at 2 libraries as well)

This one was her choice. If you are so inclined, would you please click this link and donate what you can.

Thanks in advance for any help you send in her name!

(And for the record, I'm just walking alongside to keep her company! It's a long race for a little bug)

GOOD INITIATIVE!

Hope you have some support already from sponsors.

I'd like to make a contribution also, but prefer to do this directly to you via Paypal (I'm not too fond of websites asking my personal data and creditcardno.; also because of possible hacking attempts).

I've PMed you.

Goodness yes! She did that one in around 26 minutes give or take. Beat mom too. I got sidetracked by this guy dressed up like a monkey

Photos can be found on my facebook page.

This last Sunday we did a 5k hike/run. All entry money goes to a local charity but they didn't ask for further donations. The Action Asia races are pretty frequent so I am guessing that is why.

This one took around an hour to finish, and yet again she beat mom. Dad too! (Actually, I was her pacer throughout the run)

More photoson facebook.

Needless to say, I'm pretty proud of her. The banana run was freezing....8c when we started. I had gloves and a neck wrap on most of the run. The Action Asia was 28.1c when I logged in at the end of the race. From one extreme to another. (And no, she's not running the 10k with me this weekend...I want to attempt to get a better time than the last one I did and with a bug along we might not finish before they open the course to the public again.)

And I am so sorry for not getting back to this post. Your donations were greatly appreciated. She raised HK$900 in the end! If it's of no objection to anyone here, I'll post the next one she does in the summer. That one is either for breast cancer or leukemia, I can't remember which. (I'm running in Toronto in a 5k for one and she and I are running in HK for the other) Both are for a good cause at any rate....

Good to hear!

If you both get real experience in such runs, you can try to solve a twisty puzzle simultaneously (to bring it into the topic of this forum. Somewhere here I read earlier this running&puzzling has also a competition).

Good luck with the next run!

  BobI am not! I haven't got his stamina.

I'm making a stopover in Vancouver to run a 1/2 marathon....and I was thinking I'm doing great. That same weekend...Bob is doing an even bigger run (I'll leave him to tell it, but that is one I'll never finish I'm sure)

And Tony, the starwars guys in the HK Marathon last month were just too cool!
