Using the StarMinx's structure, the Pentultimate can be made easier.
We expect to release the Mf8 Pentultimate in the first half of next year.

Am I right in saying a Master Pentultimate will also be made before then?

Might it be that you are referring to a post that is somewhere in this forum where someone said that the Pentultimate is a bandaged version of the master Pentultimate?
Because I recall that somehow and never really understood.

Now I don't know anything about designing mechanism. I only always take my bought puzzles apart and try to understand how it works. (At least with most of my puzzles.)

But I think when comming from the Starminx there is no reason why the Master Pentultimate comes first.

I got the idea that you can imagine it like a Master Skewb: Look at the mass produced version. It's not a buildup with added functionality to a normal skewb. Instead there is a Dino Cube inside and the edges are connected to it.
You COULD however also make a Master Skewb from a normal one by adding layers. I think that's how Drew made his higher order Skewbs.

So I guess there is another way to approach the Master Pentultimate too. One that is not build up on the normal one but somehow recieved on a different way. I can't even close imagine what that could be. In that case the normal version would be shell above the master version.

I still believe that when comming from a Starminx though, the Pentultimate is a shell that comes before the master version.

The order goes Starminx, Master Pentultimate, Pentultimate. Following that, logically they would make a Master Pentultimate before the Pentultimate. Also, the regular Pentultimate would need bandaging on the internal Megaminx, and so that new 'part' would also cost more money to produce.

Yes what I posted was trash, you're right. The all pieces on the master pentultimate are already on the starminx (except for the corners). I didn't think of that first. My order was wrong.

Sorry for the bump, but during a solve this morning, I let my puzzle fall on the floor. Bad surprise : the puzzle totally explosed ad all pieces were all over the floor.
I am prety unlucky with this puzzle, because after 5 mess during the solve (the tedious star tip... ), I was about to finish the solve for the first time and arrghhh!!!

I was wondering why a fall had cause such a damage. It never happens to me before. Actually, this is because one of the screw is not similar then the others ones. This screw is shorter and smaller and she get off the 'screw thread' during the impact. Obviously, all pieces were liberated !!

Question : what is usually screw for this puzzle ?
Now, I think I have some work assembling this puzzle !! And, he is not yet solved...
