Just got this, I guess you could call it the cubic version of the curvy copter mezon.

Just letting everyone know that I achieved Helicopter Mezon last night, and it's awesome. For everyone who is confused by Mezon and has never held one in their hands: - The two rotated corners are actually the only solved ones. The pieces around it aren't solved, they're the jumbled ones. - It's basically just a zig-zag around two unjumbled bits, but from the right camera angle it looks more impressive. So, it's less impressive than I originally thought, but it's also very cool to see, so this was still a success for me

I am lazy taking pictures, but the rex cube has a pattern similar to (R L F B) 3 on the 3x3x3 cube. And it's only 7 turns.

I'd like to contribute a curvy copter pattern, you could call it a flipped chopped snake i guess. It can be set up in 3 parts. (3 easy jumbling sequences). 1. Flip 2 pieces like so: FR+ UR FR UR FR UR FR ++ 2. Next 2 pieces: UB+ UL UB UL UB UL UB++ 3. Last 2 pieces: DL+ DF DL DF DL DF DL++ Attachment:

TomZ wrote: Yes, it's possible without jumbling. You can only flip centres in pairs of 4 when not jumbling (while you can get flip in pairs of 2 when you do jumble) and 4 divides 12 so you can do it without jumbling. Yes, but a more geometrical proof would also be needed Actually i know how it can be done. I can do it in 78 turns without jumbling. Still working on an improvement to that (too long). Per PS! Now i'm quite convinced a solution with no jumbling would have the least number of turns PPS! Tom, i disagree calling them centers. Centers have single color only. Call them middle edges or simply edges

I have just lowered the edge 12-flip to 72 turns. It is done in 3 similar parts that flip 4 edges each. One part is done like so: [UR UF]3 - UB UL BL RF RD FD - [DL DB]3 - FD RD RF BL UL UB (24 turns) (The bolded part sets up centers to be swapped on another side of the curcy copter.) Attachment:

After done 2 times we have 6 flipped edges and 2 twisted corners.)

There are actually two variants of this pattern. If you rotate all eight gears, you'll pass through this state, then a second one (giving you the +2), and then it will go back to being solved.
As far as I can see, these are the only three possible cubic positions.

My latest achievement is the 12-flip in only 44 turns!!
I start with a slice 4-slice like so:
/*000000*/UB, /*000001*/UR, /*000002*/RF, /*000003*/BR, /*000004*/RD, /*000005*/LU, /*000006*/FL, /*000007*/LB, /*000008*/DL, /*000009*/BD, /*000010*/DF, >>4-flip L-side /*000011*/DL, /*000012*/LB, /*000013*/FL, /*000014*/LU, >>4-flip R-side /*000015*/RD, /*000016*/BR, /*000017*/RF, /*000018*/UR, /*000019*/FU,
I have indicated where to insert L-side and R-side 4-flips respectively. A whopping 16 turns are cancelled from an ortherwise 60 turns sequence.
Final reult:

Hello, collection
I have decided to make this classical patterns with my C4U teraminx. Now, this puzzle won't be solve anymore, because I prefer the mf8 teraminx. Turning of C4U is good, but not as mf8 puzzle. I have poped several times, and I have been often lost, especially with the edges. But, I am pretty happy with the results.

I hope you made that pattern by only turning 3 layers at a time, like you were playing with a megaminx and did not pair centers and edges new!?

I think from his post he said that he stickered it that way, and it can never be in a typical solved state.

No, I have all scrambled before realized that I could do it like a megaminx!! Otherwise, I have solved it this way. I had 2 bigs pops during solving, so Luke, if you say normally this is not realised by solving, I was lucky, rearranging the pops to get through the parity...
Actuelly, I have not completely think why this pattern is cannot be realised from the normal state ?

I don't know I have not completely think what this will not be realised by solving from the normal state ? Wow having a pop where you need to wory about a parity is bad. I only get a pop on on one of the little face pieces sometimes on my mf8 terraminx but only when I use it harshly. That of course, can never lead into a parity. What Luke was suggesting though, is that you might have wanted to say that you put the stickers on IN that pattern. Like you would sticker a black Rubik's cube in a scrambled way and it can't be solved. But I guess you didn't mean that.

Time for a simple 6x6x6 pattern. You can see it in action here. And a picture below. Per PS! Does anyone know of a Mosaic Cube applet/simulator?? It's not on gelatinbrain cube/vertex turning. Also searhing google gives me nothing useful ...
