BSA(Poll Now Added)

I was wondering if anyone on the forum is a part of the BSA is an Eagle Scout, scout, leader, etc..

Edit: I have added a poll for rank/position in scouting and in the O.A. Please only select one scout Rank/one leader rank and one O.A.(if in the O.A.) Rank for the sake of accuracy.

My family was in scouts. All of us. I like some parts of it but for the most part I did not care for outdoorsy, camping, boy scouts and the scenery. The part I did like was cub scouts, I got a very good friend out of it known for a long time(that know my situation), watering the trees :wink:

Very Nice! iv'e been working really hard on getting my vigil been doing a lot of service for my lodge (Nentico if you have heard of it we have the oldest unchanged lodge flap in the nation) do you have any pointers on getting vigil?

You are more or less in the same boat as me but I have been in the OA for four years now and i actually this past weekend I just Staffed at an ordeal weekend and we just got 76 new members!

I got into several arguments with the leadership of my troop so I quit. I was given the option of 2 troops at the crossover and now I really wish I picked the other.

There aren't any real pointers on that. Vigil isn't something you seek out; it's something that you get if the people around you feel that you should have it.

I'm in the Kansa lodge, which came from the merger of the Nani-Ba-Zhu and Hi-Cha-Ko-Lo lodges.

I'm amazed at the number of eagle and boy scouts. I got my eagle a few years ago and now occasionally help the troop. It's hard when life gets in the way, but it's always nice to help the people that helped you along the way to eagle.

It's funny, but back when I started boy scouts I visited every troop in my area and didn't like any of them. So we took it into our own hands and made a troop (thanks to my dad) and now it's one of the bigger ones in our area, and is not completely inundated with jerks and losers. It's nice to have a little control and be able to start your own troop.

Good luck to those who are striving toward eagle scout. Don't give up!

I got it during graduation this year, so in like May....2008. So not that long.

I finally finished up my Communications merit badge tonight.

I was at one point in time, but then I joined Karate and Marching band.
The three together just KILLED me, and I had to give up one of them. Scouts lost. Though I did learn a LOT through the years.

two years ago to last may, i did BSA, Tae Kwon Do and Cello. it was crazy, last november i became a black belt and basically stopped, in December i stopped cello, but i really want to do it again and in may i stopped going to scouts (i'm a star scout). i really want to start going to troop meeting again

5, I think. Citizenship in the World, Citizenship in the Community, Personal Fitness, Personal Management, and Family Life. Personal Fitness is a no brainer, I just need to meet with a counselor (im in football so i exercise 6 days a week) and im done with Personal Management.

Ditto. I left a few years ago, and I was only tenderfoot rank. Half of me regrets leaving, but I had no time, and even if i wanted to join now, I still dont have any.

Well in a way they do, they are called eagle palms which are commendations for future activity in your troop and earning more merit badges after you have already achieved eagle.

My 18th b-day is 12/21 and I'll I have left is the project which I should have started months ago. What are some good and fast projects that aren't just throw away and actually help people?

Building things like a bulletin board or some type of garden dedicated to a cause are easy... I rebuilt a playground so don't as me :lol:
