RIP Frank. Recently I read about an apparent breakthrough in leukemia treatment. I hope it works out, though I wish it had come through sooner, in time to save Frank.

There are so many promising treatments on the horizon. Unfortunately most that work in small-scale tend not to work in big clinical trials. It's really easy to get your hopes up and then be disappointed down the road. The thing about Frank that was so inspiring is how humble and matter-of-fact he approached life. He didn't appear to get depressed or angry or all of the other things that so many of us would go through. He was a first-class individual. It was obvious before his cancer but his cancer made it that much more apparent.

I never got to meet Frank, but from what I read from him he was just a genuinely nice guy. I wish I could have met him.

I have to agree with the above. I never knew him, and I never met him. But I sincerely wish I had.
