I was browsing my local thrift store today when I found this interesting "puzzle":

The labels identify it as being form REMCO 1981, item no. 198. The packaging is in rough shape (it has been pierced and has had several generations of price stickers placed and replaced) but the cube inside appears to be in mint condition. I have not yet opened it as it may devalue the puzzle. It contains the following instructions for solving:
whoever made the packaging wrote:
In order to enjoy your stupid cube you must not use your brains
Step 1. Turn colored squares left
Step 2. Turn colored squares right
Step 3. Turn entire cube around clockwise
Step 4. Turn cube around counterclockwise
Wow, You've Done It Dummy!
Warning: Telling anyone the solution can result in them solving it. Overuse can result in sprained fingers and total confusion!
Upon a bit of research, I discovered several other Remco toys but nothing indicating the potential rarity/selling price (including a browse of the museum). Does anyone recognize this puzzle?
