SCROLL DOWN TO SEE UPDATED APR 2012 COLLECTION!

I've been meaning to take some pics of my collection for a while now but i keep saying "i'll just wait until ***** arrives and then i'll do it, i've realised now though that there will always be a new ****** so i've just decided to take some pics now

It was done with very little planning and finished very quickly so please forgive the poor organisation! If i found a puzzle i missed in one category i just stuck it in the next pic

Several puzzles are scrambled - i'm blaming my nephews and nieces for that!

If you see any KO's i apologise, i avoid buying them now that i know what they are.

This was meant to be "Twisty with Cubies" but as you can see quite a few puzzles don't really fit that category!

I'm hoping to concentrate more on solving and less on collecting in the future but there are some really awesome puzzles being released soon......

Very nice and eclectic choice of puzzles! Good to see that cute "Think-A-DoT"! :)
And always remember, the custom-made puzzles that you made will always be
your most precious!

:D

Beautiful collection Zzupler! I'm extremely jealous of certain pieces in there.

Nice one!! That's a big amount of puzzles you got there. Too bad you don't have any 3D printed, trust me it's worth it, I have more 3D printed than mass produced, it's much more fun

And thanks for making Luke feel bad about his collection

That's a really nice collection. How many of those can you solve - one half, one third etc.?

Thanks for the kind words and don't worry that "cute Think-A-Dot" is not the only puzzle i found by spending hours upon hours "browsing" through your web pages - i wish i had the time, patience and inclination to do such a service to the community as you have done with your pages (i'm waaay too lazy :) )

Hmmmm i think those "certain pieces" Luke is jealous of may very well be one and the same as those 3D pieces i "don't have any of" - methinks Greg needs to put on his glasses and pay closer attention to the very centre of the first picture :P - by the way all pictures are clickable!

I agree - printed puzzles are amazing! I came within a hair's-breadth of buying one of Tomz's curvy copter II's but ultimately didn't as i had no experience of 3D printed puzzles (and i also thought the curvy copter I looked cooler even if it was easier to solve) Since i got Timur's puzzle for such a reasonable price and know what to expect i am now much more open to buying more printed puzzles as i know what i will be getting. I have already earmarked a few more of Timur's puzzles which seem to be very reasonably priced - and don't worry Greg, quite a few of your puzzles have caught my attention too!

As for Luke being jealous, don't worry - i saw his collection too and there are loads of puzzles there that make me feel the same way so i'm just evening things out!!

Thank you Andreas! and subtle hint taken - i will send on more pics to the museum soon, i have some pics taken but i lack the info - how important is inventor/patent number etc?

Hard to be exact, but in reverse order - all of the disentanglements ( except the enigma which i got apart but can't get back together properly), all the electronic ones - as far as "solving" them actually goes, all the mazes except the rubik's maze, most of the pattern matching/take apart puzzles (i'm looking at you Gordian!!) most of the balls too but for the masterball which i came within matching up two top and bottom slices of solving, [SKIP], almost all of the moving hole (except for the zauberkreuz and triple cross - which isn't really moving hole!) and all the rest except what i call shape changing puzzles like the hexagon prism and the axis cube which i just can't seem to get my head around at all. I also can't solve anything higher than the 3x3 so no 4x4 or 5x5 etc

Not bad for someone who has only been doing it for 6 months i think, although some of my "solutions" would make you cringe i'm sure - i solve the 3x3x5 as a 3x3 and then a 2x3x3 and i solve the 3x3x4 as two seperate 2x3x3's with a tiny extra bit at the end - not very elegant solutions but i get there!

The [SKIP] up there was the section "moving but no hole" which is my worst area, there are quite a few puzzles there i can't solve - billion/star billion/ trillion/dual rings/orbik and on and on but honestly i can say i haven't spent much time on some of these puzzles yet but i do hope to get to grips with them soon!

So in answer to your question.....maybe 80%??

Thanks again for your kind words everyone!!

EDIT: sorry, i had a few last night so was probably a little loquacious there! Just got woken by the doorbell:

Am i the first person to get a Smaz bag? Lovely velvety feel to it - and the puzzle's not bad either!! The Moody ball was quite hard to turn but it loosened up great with a little silicone!

No subtle hint had to be taken. I meant my own collection.
Additions to the museum are highly appreciated anyway.
My priorities are in decreasing order:
  • Title / Descriptions / A good image
  • More good images: Midturns / scrambled / unexpected properties / ...
  • Year / inventor
  • publisher / patent / original price
Any entry that fulfills the first point will be added.

I was just out to dinner with otischeng and he has one as well from when he visited SMAZ. I am not sure which of you got yours first, but it's quite a nice thing to have :)

It's been a hectic year of trading, buying and selling since I updated my collection pics - so here you go!

I think the sliding tile type of puzzle is my new favourite type of puzzle - although i still like twisties!
I'm always open to trades or offers so if you see something that interests you let me know and we'll see if we can work something out.

Yes, after searching for over a year to find one mix box I found a second one a couple of weeks later. I will be putting some of my duplicates up for sale/trade shortly if anyone is interested!
The Ice-9 from David Pitcher is a great puzzle - Not too easy not too hard, and best of all - not too expensive! His printed puzzles are almost at mass produced prices - it's fantastic :D
I have ear-marked several more of DP's puzzles to buy but the guy keeps releasing more, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to keep up (I'm not complaining!)
