I am not sure if I did well on this auction (wlthough I hope so for, if not, I sure am leaving myself "opne" for people poking fun! ), yet I thought it was interesting that I won this auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1
which has a somewhat unique upsidedown label for around half of this action:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-Rubiks-Cub ... dZViewItem
and the second auction had a regilar label and a scratched up canister. Interesting how auctions go!
Happy cubing all,
Sam

Wow, Looks like a good deal to me for $65. Prices keep on falling except for new Fisher puzzles

I have never seen my name mentioned before in an auction listing.
Quote: To know how rare it really is… you may go to “TwistyPuzzles” and check the collections of those world-famous Rubik’s puzzle collectors -- not many people have this one. “Sandy” doesn’t have it; “Dodd” doesn’t have it; …; “Riddler17” has collected a whole bunch of MasterBalls, but even he/she doesn’t have this one.
 I have it now.

Here is a rare one.
Could this be a White Logical Games Cube - The first cube in the USA???
For only $24 is a great price I think. This is only the 2nd one of these I have seen with the case and instructions.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6003195337
Here is a page from Ton's Site with a lot more detailed information about this cube.
http://www.speedcubing.com/ton/collecti ... a%20Szalai)%201980%20USA.htm
Hmm, I get this to link in the message. Copy the URL and paste it to your browser. Worked for me.

Yeah, Dodd, obviously you're on the verge of becoming the world-famous puzzle collector! I already noted in another post that twistypuzzles.com is now being cited in patents. That's something I'd say.
Can we find a source of these Cat&Mouse masterballs for twisty puzzle members? Maybe ask "socanorus"? They obviously can be had for cheap in China. Take a look at this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5997395646

Hi Dodd,
Yes, that is a White Logical Games American Cube. From what I understand these came already lubed with silicone!

Thanks for sharing that link Aleksey. However, I do not like the looks of the seller (-1) feedback rating. I currently know of only one other person who has a Cat Masterball and he will be trying to trade/sell it at the Dutch Cube Day. I can ask around and see if I can find a source.

Here is one:
http://look.net/masterball
In fact they are based in US. I am not sure about their shipping, so if anyone in US is ordering some, can I have the cat and the tennis ones?
I can pay with PayPal.
There's no Circus one though and the Cat one is of a different colour scheme to the one in the Chinese auction.

Hello all,
Since we are on the subject of prices on eBay, a listing for a studio cube caught my eye. Not only did I think it was interesting how the author was stating the rarity of the cube, but in partivcular I was suprised at how high the cube was selling for (currently GBP 31.09, or $54.96. ) and with a day still to go! Wow! Not to be out of line, yet I am very happy that Dodd was selling his Studio Cubes for a far more reasonable price!
Incredible!
Happy cubing,
Sam

After my budapest trip, I sold a few on ebay - one for over ÂŁ50 - that was a few months before Dodd sold his.
Timing really is everything!

Well, we can be nosy on eBay... and it would appear that the buyer is inexperienced, British, and plays golf. The second highest bidder plays with guns. That tells you enough.

Wow, on that limited edition cube. A new seller and only a 3 day auction. It didn't say if it had the case and the certificates that originally came with it.

Here's an amusing thing. The auction title, "Challenging Rubik’s Puzzle Brain Teaser" was truncated in the notification email, to become:
"Challenging Rubik’s Puzzle Bra..."
Imagine that.
Anyway, the puzzle arrived already, and not only is it clear plastic, it is also held together with clips instead of being glued so it can easily be opened up.

Hmm, that's what I expected. Is your black one glued? Mine is held together with 8 clips.

It is glued, as you can see from the picture on my site:
http://www.geocities.com/jaapsch/puzzle ... etrick.jpg
It has no clips at all.
On the clear plactic version, the clips are grey, and there are only four of them.

Or the speed calendar cube that took me maybe 4 hours to prepare and then sold for 11 GBP when another unprepared one sold for 22, or the speed 2cm 3x3 that also took me maybe 4 hours and went for 10 Euros when another unprepared sold for 12 GBP or so... it's just a game, sometimes you get more than you thought you would, sometimes less...

The only 2 bidders have 0 & -2 feedback. I feel sorry for the seller unless he knows the 2 jokers who bid on his auction. Maybe homer himself bid on these

I found another name for the Square-1 puzzle
First there was the Square-1
Then came the Cube-21
Then the Super Cubix
And now the Mega Challenger

Sorry, but there a lot of crap being sold. I just got a couple of extremely poorly made "custom puzzles".
You have to create a reputation based on creativity and quality. That is why the puzzles by Tony, Katsuhiko, Anthony and Hidetoshi are highly valued. They are both intersting and also very well made. Incredibly smooth.
For the record, I would like to say that the puzzles that I bought from you Jin are also very well well made. In my book, your puzzles are well worth it.
