Not really a twisty puzzle, but kinda neat. I could keep a mini-Rubik's cube in it.

Does anybody have a recommendation for beginners to Japanese Puzzle boxes? I would want something to provide a medium challenge but would not take an extremely long time to open and close.

I've seen the 324 step puzzle box and thought it was incredibly cool. The price is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I do have a couple easier ones, 6-12 steps.

I've wondered in the past if it is extremely fragile due to the intricacy. Is it as fragile as I think it is?



I would suggest going for something between 12~30 moves or so if you want a medium challenge. I have a 12 move box, IIRC, and it's really easy to open and close.

I figured since I'm only buying one, I might as well get a nice one, with some room for stuff on the inside and a bit of challenge involved in opening it. Plus, it comes with a complementary 5 yen coin!

That monster box in the first video link is epic!

If only I had a thousand dollars to spend, I could buy that monster box, or better yet this way funner Pineapple
