When I upload pictures via Upload Attachment, I get a popup window that says "The upload is currently in progress" and it doesn't go away. The original webpage autodirects me to posting.php?mode=post&f=8&sid=361e992b72f5c285fb2f7878fe (which I removed a few characters from, in case it links to anything), and Google Chrome doesn't do anything else with it.

Am I doing it wrong? I've tried in Firefox, too, and got the same error.

How large is the picture? Is the filetype an unusual one?

2.7MB is quite high for a picture of the size which you would want to place on a forum. Try shrinking it down, I could not upload a 2.8MB file myself but the resized version (100kB) uploaded perfectly.

The maximum size for a public message attachment is 10 megs, or 1 meg for a private message attachment. With that said, I believe PHP (installed and configured by my host) has an upload file size limitation of its own which is probably less than 10 megs. Anyway, TomZ is on the right track, just resize the image and all should be fine.

On a related note, I have started getting disk space warnings from my host as we approach the limits. My eye is falling upon the attachments folder which is taking up over 95% of the allotted disk space. I'm thinking about finding some tool that will mass-resize the exorbitantly large images to under 1 meg.
