When I first moved to HK, there were no puzzle shops. I literally walked the streets to find toys. I went to mom and pop toy shops, i went to markets. I know others on forums go to rummage/car boot sales. Others go to flea markets, or good will/salvation army/oxfam type places.
If you want puzzles, you look for them. Every where you go. I'm still in Macau, and in our travels around this city, I've found puzzles in 5 different places. I've read over and over how this city has nothing.....and yet, we've found something. (Nothing I don't have, but puzzles all the same)
As the bug says "you have to put your 'spotter eye's in" She's right! Just look and you might be surprised at what you find.

Well, some nice puzzles also arrived (for example, Eric's brilliant Child Play, as well as some "Alien Tech" prototypes), but those little booklets I received the past days constitute some valuable puzzle history! So, here is the CFF (Cubism For Fun) panorama, which showcases all of the issues till now! All sorts of puzzles, their solutions, reviews of their history and origin, IPPs, Cube Days, etc etc etc. They cover all the interesting events from March 1981 till now. Attachment:

Just a few days ago I recieved a face turning rhombic dodecahedron! It's a beautiful puzzle that now sits hopelessly scrambled on my dresser

Today I received my Mini Split Pentagonal Domino puzzle (designed by RubixFreakGreg) from Shapeways! I was slightly worried as I was the one who was prototyping it, but I must say that it's an awesome puzzle! I'll be making a topic when I finally get around to stickers.

I tried, but I can't at the moment. My Internet is dreadful. I'll try tommorow, and who knows, my Mini Chopper also from RubixFreakGreg may have arrived then.

I got my Mini Chopper from RubixFreakGreg today, which was a trade for my Face Turning Octahedron. I'll post some pictures tommorow. A very nice puzzle indeed.

Today I received a 2 color dogic IV from a very special seller who I shall keep anonymous. The Dogic is white and black so I had to take a picture with my other white and black cube.
Hope you like it!

Since nobody's posted it, and I ordered 6 hours after it came out, I might be one of the first to say I got my Vulcano! I'm going to post a VERY flimsy review of it (it's my first ) Please give me suggestions. It's a short review, mostly to demo that the puzzle has been released, works well, and is being received, but I'd like to know what to do in future reviews. Thanks!

I'm not sure how rare they are (or will become?): My Jade Puzzles have arrived today. It would be nice to know, how many we are in the Jade Club, so we can judge how rare they really are. This is my Christmas parcel from my wife: Three puzzles from TomZ (Compy Skewb, Curvy Copter II, Helicopter Skewb), the Muse Skewb, and the Vulcano (has arrived at Christmas Eve exactly). I'll take my time to solve them all (in theory I can solve four of them, but not yet the Curvy Copter II). My wife has asked me, to spend more time with her than with my puzzles. A very reasonable request that will be honoured!!!

Today I was given (to what I believe) a knock off 3x3x3 cube from the 1980s. It's yellowish white, and it has the standard colour scheme, apart from yellow is replaced with black. Does anyone have any information on this cube?

I know the fellow twistypuzzle member, who has won that auction. This is a rare puzzle for sure and I know that the new owner is very proud of it. Maybe you want to post it here? (It would set your number of posts to 2! )

misterpoopoohead wrote: What is this puzzle? It's pretty cool. Are there others like it available? Kevin, this puzzle is called Olidjus. Please search the forum, and you will find a few references to this puzzle. Notably, Anthony Greenhill made a complete replica of it once in the past. The puzzle is extremely rare. The above mentioned auction for this puzzle was first that I remember since being on eBay which started, I think, in 1998. It was produced in the Soviet Union, and is extremely rare even in the ex-USSR. I think low awareness of this puzzle and what it is contributed to the low - in my opinion - price on that auction.

Eric Vergo and I did another trade, continuing on our last trade ( here and here). When waiting for an awesome puzzle, you *never* want to see this arrive: I was really worried the Pentagram inside would be damaged, but it was fine: And surprise, surprise! A friend was along for the ride: I was *very* happy with the unexpected stowaway, it isn't every day an Ultra-X shows up unannounced. In case the pictures do not convey it properly, these puzzles are really, really nice. Movement on the Pentagram is great despite a ton of tiny thin pieces. Great job and *big* thanks to Mr. Eric Vergo, Dave

I would completely understand the "damaged condition" label if they arrived scrambled, especially if they were shape-shifted. That would mean that customs opened it, scrambled it, and thought that they broke it

Over the past week or so I have recieved the following puzzles. The babymorphix was a trade from Marcy, The duominx was a trade from Dave Litwin, and the ETO was a Christmas present. The ETO was a diy kit and I had to dye/assemble/sticker it. All three are great puzzles and I'm very happy to have them in my collection.

Today I received several bags from Shapeways!! They contain.......I don't really know what they contain. They were gifts, and my mother doesn't know what she ordered. I have hesitantly identified them as a 2x3x4, a starminx, and a pentultimate (my mother said that the name TomZ rang a bell, so I used that as a basis for my educated guesses). Photos to follow when (if) I assemble them.

I don't know if it's better to post this here or in the "less rare puzzles" thread, but since my new Golden Cube is signed by both Tony Fisher and Uwe Meffert, I imagine it's no more an ordinary Golden Cube Anyway, here are the pictures: UnboxingUnstickeredStickeredSolvedScrambledI decided to put the stickers all around the signatures, since I prefer the gold to the simple black color...

A neat little package came for me today, and made me my week! I am now the proud owner of a Betcha Can't/Flexible Hexagon (with instructions), a tiled Skewb, older tiled Meffert's 4x4x4 and 5x5x5s (with stripes across tiles), older Meffert's 6-color Megaminx, and a couple put-together puzzles! All images clickable! They all are now sitting wonderfully in my collection

Hello Forum,
I just received this signed master skewb in the mail today! I like it MUCH more than the lanlan mass produced master skewb because it is proportional! I also like that it is slightly pillowed.
Thanks Timur,
Chris

I received my Mefferts White Golden Egg and Golden Egg in the mail today. Very happy with my trade that I did on youtube, instead of this forum.
I original asked for the white and yellow eggs from this user, but as they took long to ship the package, they kindly changed the yellow for the golden one without me even asking. Now waiting on the shipment of my White Golden Cube.
Robert
PS is it me or do they remind anyone else of the eggs from Harry Potter?

Today I received two packages of rare puzzles. The first is a Trillion and Inca from Milan. Attachment:

The second package had a Double Think Binary Ring which is quite the rare puzzle as only 4 were sold Attachment:

I already had the Double Disk (also invented by Sergey Abramenkov) which I got from Amazon about a month ago. Both are very nice puzzles.

Today two nice puzzles arrived. The Mini Dino Cube is indeed "mini" and a cute puzzle. Thanks, Garret!
