DaveO wrote: Does getting a delivery on Jan 4th count as in the holiday window? Yes, many people will get things for the holidays (there are many) won't receive them immediately. As long a what you receive was given as a holiday gift I think it applies, so for the next week or two I think posts are on topic. After that though, this should probably fade away. And post pictures! There are far too many posts with no pictures in this thread Dave

Well... I usually receive my puzzles in Australia, but I had two unexpected visitors here in Singapore: Attachment:

But this is just the appetizer... right after the Hong Kong Toy Fair, expect a huge puzzle photo update, as there are many puzzles (including rare ones) which have arrived in Australia and I have to wait! Aaaargh! Pantazis

My Pyraminx Crystal, Jing's Pyraminx and Holey Megaminx arrived 2 days ago. They are great, although the megaminx doesn't turn too great at the moment. I think I need to break it in a bit. -Mark-

Here's what I got for Christmas. Sorry for the bad lighting as this was taken with my phone's camera (I can't find my good camera at the moment).

Here are my holiday puzzles. It's a bit late because my 3x3x2 took a while to arrive. Thanks to MarkSS for his virtual 3x3x2 that I used to figure out my own method for solving 3x3x2 while I waited impatiently! Being restricted to 180 degree turns on the sides made me confused.........for a few minutes. I have 3 Meffert's Fisher cubes, a 3x3x3 Qubami, a Pyraminx Crystal, an Orb-it (orb) and my favourite puzzle at the moment, the 3x3x2! Alex

I know a guy who sells puzzles, who knows a guy who owns a factory, that makes puzzles for a guy who sells puzzles. The end result? The bug got Crystal puzzles for Christmas. Attachment:

I'll edit this and post a better picture when we put the last 9 together. Today I helped with 10 of them and the key chains. My eyes have had it! (have I even mentioned how much I hate those things? ) I got a couple from Matt and the Bug: Attachment:

and a not-yet-ordered Bloomberg cube (this was a sample from Rubik's. Not sure if the company is going to buy or not. Apparently my husband knows a guy....)

Rox, for those crystal puzzles, are the color variations just that, or do they all have different pieces?

some color variations, some different shapes. She got Mickey, Minnie, Pooh, Hello Kitty, and Hello Kitty on a strawberry, a white rabbit, a white water drop, a golden horse, a yellow treasure chest, a blue shoe, a blue moon, a blue pyramid, along with those 11 keychains-put together today. a blue dolphin, a white skull, the earth, an orange sun, a pink bear, a white rose, a blue water crown, and a pink rabbit-to be done tomorrow.
I think the only thing she doesn't have now is the gold castle-she has the white one, the pink dolphin, and the white horse.

Here's a video too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZZGRpjKRHEThat pyraminx crystal is an original tiled Mefferts one from Erik Johnson (thanks!) [and also for the Helicopter cube] I plan on using Tony's sticker design on my new white gear cube, I just have to cut them from my vinyl cutter. I already have a black gear cube.

I got: -KO 360 (My Rubik's 360 is standing in for that one) -QJ Pyraminx (even though I clearly stated "MEFFERTS BRAND!!!" in all caps) -Hungarian Rings (Still sealed in what I think is a German gold seal) -Orb-it (I had to hunt for this myself- I talked the price down to $25 ) -Rubik's Slide (I got 2 of these from different people) -Megaminx (Chinese Tiled one even though I clearly stated "MEFFERT'S BRAND!!!" in all caps) -Vulcano (which means they could have easily gotten the other Meffert's brand puzzles) -Truncated HD (don't know what it's called -KO Mirror Blocks (My Bump Cube is standing in for that one) Attachment:
IMG000035.jpg [ 60.7 KiB | Viewed 4280 times ]
Now that I look back I see I got quite a few puzzles, but I was and am disappointed that my mom, who swears she's strongly against KOs of all sorts, didn't think about what brand she was buying them from even as I told her which to get. A tad off topic: does anyone actually like the Rubik's Slide?

@DaveO: which crazy 4x4? Concerning the Rubik's slide, it is kind of fun but challenging, sometimes frustrating, and difficult to figure out (mine did not come with an instruction manual ).

I got my second puzzle package today. The first one came yesterday and had the other V-Cubes I wanted. The Dazzler is definitely my favorite puzzle now. The second package I got was from Cube Depot and it included an Edison 3x3, Ghost Hand 3x3, QJ skewb, pyraminx crystal, and C4Y 3x3x5 and 3x3x7. I agree with Muffet that the pyraminx crystal is very squishy. Does anyone know if it's possible to tighten the screws?

I received my Dael O'ring today!! For those who are not aware, the Dael O'ring is a puzzle that is much like a Cooksey Maze but the maze is on the inside of the ring (not on the shaft). It is also like the Doole O'rinth (from the same maker, I think).

I got a Perplexus "for my kids", I'm seriously impressed, a lot of fun.. can't see the kids getting through the tough part at the start of section 2, I've done it all, but so far haven't been able to string a whole solve together, once I got all the way to 93 and kooked it there . The Epic version is in the mail . Cheers, Burgo EDIT (Sorry: `Kooked it` is a surfing expression that means to be uncoordinated: like a beginner surfer. I just read the online definition and it's terrible).

We celebrated the Solstice a few days ago. My highlights were an "iQube" 1x2x5 and motorcycle training. Midlife crisis here we come!

Nothing twisty related for once. I got three complicated looking ring puzzles, a huge pile of shortbread cookies, and my favorite, Professor Jesse Beery’s Complete Illustrated Course In Horse Training!

I got a bunch of puzzles I posted elsewhere, but the best gifts I got were non-puzzle related. I got a pair of jeans I bought 2 months ago and couldn't find (Miss N. that sneaky cow hid them and wrapped them up for me-she thought it was a great laugh to watch me go crazy looking for them!), I got some warm dry-ease long sleeved running shirts (bright neon pink and blue so Mr. Man doesn't take them), but best of all, I got some time with bug to just do 'stuff'. (oh yes, and another boat load of marking has just come my way )

I bought myself a 3x3x6. I got a new bed, an ipod touch, perfume, candy, money and custom plates for my car.
