This is an illustrated example of the principle of solving Pictures Siamese Cube 5x5x5 having a degree of rotation freedom U u R r 3r (glued elements form block 2x3x5). How to make this Siamese cube? It can be done by holding the indicated block by the left hand during scrambling and solving. Or, it can be done by not touching it at all. Also, this block can be temporarily sealed by masking tape or adhesive plaster, similar to the bandage-cube: In solving such a large Siamese Cube the rotation of faces in planes parallel to only two axes - X and Y is been using. Stage 1. Solving of centers.1. Placing center of the face L, lying on the glued block. 2. Solving opposite center of the face R. 3. Solving central cube faces F of the glued block. 4. Solving central cube faces B over the glued block. 5. Placing center of the face D. 6. Placing the average vertical strip of the central cube face B. 7. Placing the average vertical strip of the central blocks of the face F. 8. Solving the remaining cubes face B. 9. Solving the remaining cubes face F (central elements of the U face is solved by themselves). Stage II. Solving the edges.1. Solving cubes edges BL and FL over the glued block. 2. Solving central cubic edges BD and FD. 3. Solving all 4 off any loose edges. 4. Solving the remaining cubes edges BD and FD. Then, the remaining three pieces of free edges, solving one more. After that, we have a few options: 5. One edge is solved, and in the two remaining edges 3 items have to be changed by the 3-cycle.6. One edge is solved, and in the two remaining edges 4 elements across each other have to be changed (or twice to do a 3-cycle, as in the Section 5 above). 7. One edge is solved, and in the two remaining edges two items have to be changed.8. Two edges are solved, and on the last edge 2 elements have to be reoriented.9. All three edges are solved. Stage III. Permutation and orientation of the corner cubes.1. Moving corner blocks to the correct places. Since there are only 6 pieces, it can be done by simple rotation without any formulas. 2. Orienting the corner pieces. Stage IV. Permutation and orientation of the edges.1. Moving the edges to the correct places. 2. Orienting edges. The result - a Siamese cube 5x5x5 is completely solved! P. S. Instructions for solving of a Siamese cube with any type and size are at the development stage and will be ready soon.

Good tutorial. I've worked out several methods for bandaging the 4x4x4 in a variety of different ways, but I've never tried it on the 5x5x5. Good work.

I hate to bump, but would you mind adding in some algorithms? I never really learned any 5x5-specific algorithms (other than the center switching commutator and the double-wing flip) , I just applied what i knew from the 4x4. btw this works on the 4x4.

The cube 5х5х5 is a smallest cube, which combines in itself all properties of even and odd large cubes. Therefore I also have resulted it as an example.

I think Orienting central edges correctly between stage II-2 and 3 maybe a good idea.

The instruction on Siamese cubes is in English ready: http://depositfiles.com/files/39nzlrsx7The title page to the instruction in English: http://depositfiles.com/files/mqc0kqwjkIn this instruction is said: "Cube 5x5x5 - it is the smallest cube that combines all the features of odd and even large cubes. Therefore, the principle of solving of the large blocks of Siamese is on the basis of solving Siamese cube 5x5x5." (Beginning of the chapter 4). Therefore it is safely possible to apply this instruction to solve of any Siamese cubes - 2х2х2, 3х3х3, 4х4х4, 5х5х5, 6х6х6, 7х7х7, 8х8х8, 9х9х9, 10х10х10, 11х11х11 and so on. At parities for the large cubes it is easier to use universal algorithm (U2 r')*5. (Look the chapter 6). How to load these files free-of-charge:1) To press the button " FREE Downloading"; 2) To wait for 60 seconds; 3) To press the button " Download the file"; 4) To wait for 3-4 minutes and again to execute items 1), 2), 3). If to print out this instruction on sheets А4 from both parties till 2 pages on a sheet in such sequence of pages: 16, 1; 2, 15; 14, 3; 4, 13; 12, 5; 6, 11; 10, 7; 8, 9, we shall receive the instruction - brochure of a format А5: * In figure the instruction in Russian is shown.

Siamese cube 3x3x3 with degree of freedom of the rotation R M U E (It is possible to stick together by a sticky tape the edge LD of a cube 3х3х3). We do only turns: Rw, Rw', Rw2, Uw, Uw' and Uw2. Now solve this puzzle only by turns Rw, Rw', Rw2, Uw, Uw' and Uw2: My method: 1) Permutation of the corner pieces; 2) Orientation of the corner pieces; 3) Permutation of the centers; 4) Permutation of the edges; 5) Orientation of the edges.

An easier way is to extend the block into a 1x2x3, then extend to a 2x2x3, then EO using slices and then finish F2L, and LL. Basically a restricted version of the petrus method.

This puzzle for the present is not investigated. Write the algorithms (solve this puzzle only by turns Rw, Rw', Rw2, Uw, Uw' and Uw2).
