I HATE these algorithms.

I really want to find an alternative because no matter what figer-trick I try to use, these are still my slowest algorithms. Have any of you found a decent alternative?

If you know alternatives for :

n17 R'L'U2RLy'RU'LU2R'UL'U2

and its mirror, that would be great too, I cant figure out a decent finger trick for these either

For the first 2 algs, try turning the whole cube like turning the front face (I think x)

Then do the alg with one move ahead of time

R [(U R' D) (R2 U' R D)]2

like that. Just hold only on the equator slice.
That became one of my favorite algs once I figured out how to do it like that.

I like your suggestion for tilting the cube... I'll try it to see if it helps speed me up a little.

One comment on the algorithm... as stated above it was missing a single quote just after the last D turn (to make it counter-clockwise). The corrected algorithm should really be:

R [(U R' D) (R2 U' R D')]2

hey, for n17 (the 3rd one) you should try this. for the (R' and L') you should do Z' then (S' w F') and for R and L just do Z (S w F)

I don't know any better ones for the first one. Sorry. I really don't like that configuration at all.

For the Second one:
R U' L d2 L' U L R' U' R U2 L' U R' U'
is a little bit smoother to me, although its essentially the same algorithm.

For N17,
(y) R2 u' R U' R U R' u R2 y R U' R'

Its inverse and reflections are the ones I use.

It may be longer, but its a heck of a lot faster when you get it down.
