Recently, a 1992 Get Back To Square-1 fell into my possession. It's still in its original packaging. But I don't know what to do with it! Should I open it, or keep it in its box? (I already have a Square-1 by the way)
I'll post a pic later

When you allready have one, keep it closed. If not for yourself, then for some collector in the future who does value it Ofcourse you should do with it whatever you want as it is yours, but I do have to ask, why open it?

yeah keep it shut. Don't open it. It'll be worth a lot in the future. My friend's dad found a vintage 3x3x3 from when he was a kid. But the core had a crack in it. Repairing it would make it not vintage because it'd have a nice new neon orange cube4you core with nice shiny screws instead of the transparent plastic core and rusty screws..

Vintage Square-1s are actually relatively worthless.
I bought mine in package for fifteen bucks. You can either open it or save it, but it won't ever be worth alot of money.

I wouldn't say they'll never be worth a lot of money. I wonder how many people thought that when the Dino Cube was released. If you have another Square-1, just use that one. No one knows the future, and you never know how much they'll be worth.

Vintage Square 1's are already 25+ years old. They were produced on a larger scale than Dino Cubes, and are produced today by several companies. Even a few years ago when puzzle prices were their highest, a packaged square 1 would only cost 35-40 bucks. This is when Dino Cubes were selling for 600 and Magic Octahedrons were selling in excess of 250 dollars. Now-a-days, you're lucky a Dino Cube breaks the 150 mark. I don't think I'd buy an original Octahedron for more than 50 bucks.
You can keep it in the package, after all, It's your collection, but I'd bet my collection it'll never have a very high selling point.

Everyone here is responding on the money side. Money aside, preserving a packaged puzzle for a future collector would be the better thing to do imho.
