I absolutly love it. And I thought the square-1 by itself is hard to solve!

Looks like the backdrop in Superman's crystal palace. Brilliant piece of work.

I'd love to see this in a park about 6' tall. You could put it out there looking like say, random scramble 3 and after a week or so of wide publicity you solve it.
Maybe just reconfigure it on a weekly basis.
Some big cities, like New York City, would love a stunt like that.

Tony,
When you craeate new puzzles, do you scramble them and work out a solution or just put them on the shelf and admire them? I agree with some other responses, I think I'd be afraid that I'd never get it back.

Many of the puzzles can be moved the same way as the originals.
The solution remains the same but there is a real challenge to "see" the puzzle and not the outer shape.

Sometimes the puzzles get put on the shelf until I get round to it. But sometimes I have a go straight away to see how the puzzle scrambles.
This one was not scrambled straight away for fear of never seeing it again, but as you can see from the scrambled pics. it's too late now.
Obviously solving it is the same as the Square 1, BUT, it is extremely difficult to follow your progress, (as if the standard Square 1 was not hard enough), as the pieces are all different unlike the standard Square 1. To help, a photo has to be taken after one half has been turned 90 degrees to line up the middle layer, (in effect the solved original Square 1).
One good thing I suppose is that the locations of the pieces change but the orientation does not, as in the standard Square 1, and not as a standard cube. When the pieces are located correctly they are also correctly orientated.

Anthony, since this is already a modified puzzle, wouldn't the cover on the Square-1 to the screw be removeable, or did you permanently glue it on?
