Today I received my Childs Play puzzles from Eric Vergo (gingervergo) Attachment:
IMG00034-20100907-2254.jpg [ 370.52 KiB | Viewed 6319 times ]
I am very impressed with the puzzle. Eric warned me that the puzzle was extremely difficult, and prompted me to scramble only One of the 2x2s before venturing into doing both. It took me 25 minutes to solve the first 2x2, even when referencing the solved one! It is extremely difficult, and Eric put a lot of time into making the puzzle as confusing as possible! If you think you have the stones to solve both of them at the same time, you don't! I CHALLENGE YOU TO TRY!

Not pictured but included in package: replacement stickers. Now I have autographs from Uwe Meffert, Tony Fisher, Peter Sebesteny, and Hidetoshi-san, now I only need an Erno Rubik autographed cube, perhaps also Okamoto-san and Udo Krell autographed puzzles also! I'll have to most likely slow down on buying puzzles as I need to save up some more funds However, every time I say that I end up spending even more Ben

Ben, overa year ago I got the exact same package from mr. Sebesteny, and a month later I met him at the DCD. There Tony signed my Golden Cube, Uwe Meffert signed an original, unopened pyraminx from 1981, and Ernö Rubik signed an original 1980 Rubik's Cube.
Who knows how much I could get for that last one, but I could never ever part with it.

Beautiful puzzles, Clauswe. I love the Petaminx, and the Trignis. Astonishing puzzles. You forgot to mention the inverted 1x2x3 in the list.

Yesterday was a special day in the life of a puzzle collector: I have received 6 different parcels containing 8 puzzles in total - on a single day!. Here they are: I'll mention the rare one's only: - TomZ's Compy Skewb - TomZ's Helicopter Skewb - TomZ's Curvy Copter II - Timur's F-Skewb A few month ago I would have counted the Rex Cube as very rare , now you can order it from Meffert's. Very nice puzzle too. Thanks to Tom and Timur and Meffert's! I've checked TomZ's puzzles briefly and have looked at the mechanism of the Compy Skewb again. All turn very well and the Compy mechanism has impressed me very much. Timur's F-Skewb is really tiny, but very nice. It is the original sample he has shown in his post. Tom's three Puzzles are the Christmas gift of my wife to me. So, I'm afraid I can write a review about scrambling and solving them not before 2011. For now I can give you my first impressions only: Excellent. Fortunately, the F-Skewb is a different story and I'll write something when I have solved it. (Probably after the other not so rare ones)

Great package you had there, Konrad! I have a feeling I will shortly be swayed into getting the F-Skewb.

I must say that I am not completely satisfied with the color of the plastic of the Curvey Copter II. Its more greyish than any of my other Shapeways products. But I reallly love the puzzle it self! I true piece of art!

Not incredibly rare, but I did get two of them! My Alexander's Stars arrived today, just as I got up. As expected, on the 6 colour one, the stickers are peeling a little (but they are older than me - nearly twice as old! I'm 15 and it was made in 1982 - 28 years old. ). The stickers are great on the 20 colour though. I'm going to solve the 6 colour one once probably, to preserve my name sticker and then keep the 20 colour for more regular solving (it also turns better than the 6 colour one). I also got the original (I think) box for the 6 colour and replacement stickers for the 20 colour. Apologies for the poor pictures, I only just got up (way too late, I know! ). Would a little bit of silicone spray improve the turning of the 6 colour, or would it make it worse? I also don't want it to damage the stickers (especially the one with my name on ). They're nearly twice as old as me, but that doesn't mean that I won't try and convince people that they're named after me! Thanks Ryan! Alex

Silicone spray shouldn't mess them up if you're careful, just insert the thin straw that comes with the spray can into the puzzle, and give a few small squirts. As long as you're careful, you shouldn't get any on the stickers, but it all comes down to how much you use

oh wow! those look amazing! I really like the master pentagonal domino! so impressive looking! Was that the first print of this puzzle?
Its supposed to be really small right? Can we see a comparison photo to a 3x3x3?
And how does it move? Does it have any flaws?

This is the first print of both the Domino and The octahedron. the domino is quite small, but it does look nice doesn't it? There was a problem with the print for the octahedron due to my own error but Claus and I were able to fix it and the puzzle is now apparently in great working order.
I hope you enjoy them all Claus

Agreed. I intend to buy a few puzzles from Muffet, especially the Octahedron and Mini Professor Pentagonal Domino. You are a great designer, Muffet!

Thanks Guys I really appreciate the comments. Puzzle designing isn't always easy, and ideas are even harder, but be on the look out for a couple of more puzzles hopefully coming soon

From RubiksFreakGreg I got these two babies today! and I really mean babies - they are so small I cant believe it! The Mini Split 3x3x2 has the same size cubies as a keychain cube! Attachment:

The design with the Mini Split as I call it, is done really well! It spins really good with none lockups! I havent broken it in yet, but I can only imagine it will turn even better with time and some lube! The Capsule puzzle is really cute! And I love it very much! Actually this one is so smooth I cant believe it! It doesnt really feel like WSF at all! more like a production puzzle! Both puzzles are highly recommended! can you say this puzzle jumbles? I'm gonna try being modest here: The capsule puzzle isn't ready when it comeout of printing, I sanded each edge piece intensively for about 20 seconds each to make it spin well. Enjoy solving them! Personally the split 2x3x3 is very hard at first for pairing up the edges but the method to find them isn't so hard (it took me about 1-2 hours to find algorithms). For the Capsule, I don't know how to solve it, I do it kind of randomly (with a small bit of thinking though ) Good luck! - Greg P.S: I'd say it jumbles because when is shapeshifts some moves are blocked

I think it's enough with "non fully proportional, shape shifting puzzle", but yeah, there are cooler names, for sure

A very nice gift arrived in the mail for me a bit ago (I am late posting pictures). It seems a friend was just being very nice. These days an Axis Cube isn't really rare given it has been mass produced, but this one is SLS printed from Adam's design back when only a few were being hand built. Enjoy! I am. Dave

Just today received: Here are some items that my collection has long desired. In particular the Olympic Rings has been in my sights for quite some time but I never seem to capture it. Competing with katsmom for one in an auction was the basis of our introduction, in a way. A friend has sent them my way in trade for some puzzles who's pictures may find their way to this thread soon and reveal just what it was I was hinting at here. My two "rare, production" shelves welcome the new additions, Dave
