Looks like a clone, though the description claims otherwise. It claims it is an original, and that the tiles are inlaid into the the faces rather than stuck onto them like clone cubes. This intimates that it is a deluxe. Maybe the photo is wrong, and some people have contacted the seller to confirm that fact.

Mmh, you're right. I did read that part but somehow I thought he just meant tiles vs stickers. If it's a deluxe and he truly wanted to say it's different from clones with tiles, then he knows about the big difference and it would be even more stupid to use a clone picture than it already would be. I'm gonna ask, sometimes I'm just too curious...

Never seen that either. Must be a U.K. version. That is where the seller is. Hmm, no longer a register user.

Can anyone tell what type of domino this is from the image?
This may be a little late, but the Domino in the picture is a spindle version... unless the picture was reversed.
That Octagonal Prisim is amazing. Looks exactly like the Russian Pyraminx. I wonder if it's smaller than a normal Octagonal Prism? I trust we will get a review of it when it arrives...!

He was also part of the Vadasz special puzzle order 3 years ago. I haven't seen him in a while either. He also purchased a Jackpot (platypus) for $50.

Hahaha, that's funny . It's even just a single page and contains the solution in both German and English. And they say "a real must-have, since there's no book for this Rubik's classic". I think I know why there isn't...
I wouldn't be surprised if they now try to sell it with high starting bid and buy-it-now. They must think they've found the money-tree

When I was in France, they were learning English and German... weird.
I suppose you always have to translate things before you buy them! Never go by the picture alone...

A new definition of "sealed":
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 6174147072
"I have left the cube in its packaging sealed so that the winning bidder can decide whether to remove it or to retain its scarcity and future value by keeping it sealed."
Yeah right... look at the box... not open it, never see it

That's not what he meant. The cube case which displays the cube is sealed.
With the sealed case he includes the shipping box, which you almost never see, which isn't sealed and can be opened without damage.
What's he going to do here sell and box which only retains its value if you never look inside? You seem to be complaining that he's not selling a pig in a poke!
How funny!
Cheers,

Hi David,
please read his full description again and then agree with me
"The other one shown in the picture has been removed from its packaging purely to show what the item looks like."
He's talking about the cube sealed in its plastic cylinder but taken out of its packaging = cardboard box.
"I have left the cube in its packaging sealed [...]"
Here he's talking about the other cube, the one with unopened cardboard box. Also, why should he do and describe this whole thing with the other cube if he could just open the cardboard box of the one he's selling?
I do believe this cardboard box is an original box in which the cube and its cylinder has originally been shipped from the manufacturer long ago. Thus, it *does* add to the scarcity, it's not just any box, but a special one. I also once got old Pyraminxes sealed in their original cardboard boxes. Of course I couldn't resist opening them (only the cardboard boxes, not the clear plastic boxes)...
UPDATE: I asked the seller for clarification and he said: "Yeah, the box is sealed and the cylinder is sealed."

Wow! I've never seen this one either.
I wonder if is came in a heptagonal case? I've noticed the pentagonal cases of the Varikon 5 are fairly common, but that the square cases of the Varikon 4 are rare. I guess they break much more easily.

Oh well, this must be the exception !!!!
Almost every UK auction has the"rare" word in it !!!
Now take a look at this extremly rare puzzle,
and nowhere is it stated that it is rare !!!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1
I like the description too:
Offered for auction are two puzzles from the Moscow toy factory 1987. I have no idea what the packaged one is as it has never been opened. The other is a small lilac plastic box with 15 plastic tiles numbered 1-15. I've seen this sort of device but normally the tiles are fixed in such a way that they may be moved to achieve a pattern. These tiles are just placed in the box,so you could cheat very quickly. It's up to the officianados of puzzles to decide. Packed away since 1987 the have never been used and the circular one is in an unopened package.
SOMEONEÂ WILL KNOW WHAT THEY ARE?
Congratulation Jaap !!!
Coming soon a solution for the "Festivalnij Tsvetok" puzzle,
that almost nobody owns !!!
hehehe

Mine is in exactly the same package, but the puzzle itself is slightly different. The one in the auction is somewhat fancier.
