At Summer Camp last week I taught someone how to solve a 4x4x4 using Reduction Method. Even better: he had absolutley no idea how to do a 3x3x3 until then. Last year at camp I taught someone else how to solve the cube and now he's got his own collection going.

I got a sub-15 the other day, which broke my record by 2 seconds- and then I got another one a few hours later, both non-lucky!

I just did my first ever Teraminx solve, and I didn't do as well as I wanted to. I got around an hour and 27 minutes, but I wanted it to be under an hour. Oh well, I used a different method, so next time I'll try and do it the normal way.

Yay! 2x2x2 PB Average - It would put me 3rd in the World!
Best Time: 1:91 seconds Worst Time: 5:02 seconds Average: 2:78 seconds!!!
Times: 1.91, 3.78, 2.23, 2.33, 5.02
Say I had a decent time, say 2:78 seconds, (the actual average) instead of the 5:02, my average would be joint first with Rowe's official average of five!

I solved Okamoto's Latch Cube. As far as I know I'm the first person to do so. Unfortunately I smeared his signature, though I was trying very hard not to.

Yay! first time that I get to post in this thread, and it's for two different puzzles which is an additional bonus for me. First, on the 4x4, I finally got a sub 1:30 average of 5, and I don't normally care for 4x4, and I normally average around 1:45ish. And for 3x3, I got a 13.48 single, non-lucky.

I solved my teraminx with a layer-by-layer method. It wasn't worth it and it took like 5 hours longer than usual.

I have done 17 second averages back when I cubed every day. but today I am not that fast anymore. I wanna get at it again. Keeping away from cube rotation. ("multi angle insertion mapping") more f2l shortcuts maybe. I need to learn 5 olls I think I found out I dont have anymore.. regular practice.. my goal for now would be a sub 15 average. OK! I can still get sub20 averages!! look here: 21.22 21.09 18.66 19 (22.89) 20.58 20.72 20.09 19.78 (16.42) 19.86 18.88 nothing else but a 19.99 second average...

After neglecting it for months and only being able to solve one layer, I can now solve the 2x3x3. Although my times could do with a little work.

Got a sub-30 solve on Ryan Heise's simulator for 3x3x3. http://hi-games.net/cube-3x3x3/watch?u=3930. Note: I just started on the simulator yesterday. ::EDIT:: Haha, make that a sub-25. . Multislotting FTW! ::EDIT:

New PB Pyraminx average of five and single:
Average: 8:06 seconds
Fastest: 4:74 seconds Slowest: 15:89 seconds
Times: 8.03, 8.64, 15.89, 7.52, 4.74
I really messed up badly on the 15 second solve, and if I was a little less rough with it it would have been sub eight seconds.

I solved the Brillic (Pyraminx Crystal) using a layer-by-layer method. By the time I got to the last layer I figured it'd have been easier to do it as Kilominx then edges, but I was too far to give up...

It's neat.

After a few dozens solves a day for a few weeks, I've gotten my solve time on the 3x3x3 at around 40 seconds. My goal is a 30 second average.

I don't twist any pieces except when they are in the groove, so it looks like I use the full solution (I intend to put up a tutorial in YouTube, just in case someone out there is looking for one and this tutorial features the solution that I used when I solved it in less than one minute).

I despise the spinout. I solved it within 5 minutes the first time, and it stopped being fun.

Try solving it with the pegs alternating up-down or one side-other side or other patterns to break up the boringness. I uploaded the solution that I filmed to YouTube.com.

The shortcut solution can be found here: http://www.jaapsch.net/puzzles/spinout.htmJaap also described the full solution.

After two days, I finally solved the Latch Cube. This cube is evilly hard. In the beginning, I was lucky getting some edges in position.

NEW PB: 17.28 Scramble: R' L' D2 R L2 F L' U' D' L' B2 D B2 R' B D' R F R' D' R2 L D' B' U Solution: (y') R D' R' y U' M U' M' U2 r B' M U M' U2 r' U' r R U' R' U R U2 R' U' R U' R' M' U' M' U M' U2 M U' M' M2 U' M2 U' M2 U2 M2 U2 M' U2 M2 U2 M'
I know, I know, not that efficient and it has canceling moves. Whatever, I wrote it out the way I solved it.
