On November the 23rd, a new puzzle was built, which could change many things, not only those related on puzzles! 1. Number of parts used: it can be divided by a prime number and the square of another number. 2. Is it a twisty puzzle: Even I don't know!!! 3. It is an idea where many others had miserably failed in the past. Pantazis

Somewhere around 100 pieces, is a cuboid, never been made (I think. Nothing shows up in search), and only 1 person knows what it is.
AND It's my first cuboid.

Ancient creatures run amok, then taking interest in being soothing? Perhaps a little bit off the top then they will be a little bit more so.

"Ancient Creatures"=it is a puzzle that is made from the same base as the one in this clue part "Run Amok"=the puzzle is unwieldy and a bit ugly "Taking interest in"=that bit means nothing. It just made the clue flow a bit "being soothing"=can't say too much except that it refers to the shape "Perhaps a little off the top"=I should have said "perhaps a little off the sides" because it refers to what you would have to do to the puzzle in clue part 1 in order to be able to make this puzzle "then they will be a bit more so"=agin, just o make the clue flow... All shall (hopefully) be revealed before the second week of April

Regarding the November 23rd 2009 puzzle I mentioned before: (super solid prototype is on the making within this week!) (1) It has X1 plastic parts. (2) It has a total of X2 rubber parts (there are three colors). (3) It has X3 metal parts. (4) Each metal part is made out of X4 sub-parts. The following equation is true: (X1-X3)^2 = (X4)^2 * (X2/2) And I repeat, it has NOTHING to do with umbrellas!!! I am not putting a video of this on YouTube, as strangely, one of my recently uploaded "private" videos had 20 hits *before* I actually watched it myself! LOL And since it is April Fools, it does not mean I am saying the truth anyway, does it? Pantazis PS. Do not blame me for the secrecy, but trust me, even if it takes two years for this to appear, I will quote this post and show you the relevance with the formula! And you definitely won't be disappointed by this unique puzzle!

Last night (20 of May), I created a cube, which is so impressive, that I decided to baptise it as "Houlis-Cube". Its symmetric properties, are second to none to any other design that exists today. Another reason it is called like that, is because it has an "X" shape on the side, which is the Greek phonetic equivalent of "H". (My surname in Greek is written as "ΧοÏλης", and the puzzle "ΧοÏλης-ΚÏβος"). Some of you may realise the magnitude of this new puzzle, some may not. In any case, it will cause some serious tremors to the puzzle world and beyond!!! July is coming, PAJUPUMA is coming! LOL Pantazis

bbbbbbZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz That's coming. And for the rest of you don't bother asking him what he's going on about. I listened to it the other night and still haven't got a clue. Mostly because I don't think he has all his grey matter anymore. I think he's spent too much time around too many plastic bits-they send off fumes when you cut into them and I am sure it has affected him now.

The symmetry of the "Colossus" puzzle has never been *and* will never be surpassed! (that is, taking into account logical, mathematical, and realistic limitations which will be explained in two months). And I can assure you all, I ain't bluffing! So... can you already feel the earthquake tremors made by the arrival of Colossus? Pantazis PS. Yes, Colossus will well surpass the symmetric properties of the Houlis-Cube, pushing this world's symmetries to its very limits!

elijah wrote: doesn't a sphere already have infinite symmetry? Assuming we are talking about a mathematical puzzle, not a marble, the symmetry is finite. And it makes more sense to assume that a puzzle is related to polyhedra, which is why spherical puzzles have a represetnative from those. But I like your thinking. In that sense, a puzzle like the Kabalabda (ball inside a ball) may be considered as of infinite symmetry. But then, it will be more of a dexterity matching puzzle, something which is not what I am doing. Beans wrote: @kastellorizo will it be mass produced Hey... something not even known yet, cannot be mass produced! ok ok just kidding, the plan is to indeed flood the market, but it won't be easy, as it is extremely expensive to make! (the prototypes had cost a few thousand dollars already!) Pantazis

That's even better. The only thing I hate more than a puzzle that is known of, but not yet made(like the ones on Oskar's shapeways page), is a puzzle that is produced, but in very limited numbers. Also, telling from what you just posted and what you have posted before, I'm thinking it might be made of several materials(that's not a question just an observation and I don't expect you to respond).

katsmom wrote: Those little drink umbrellas is one of the materials! Well... someone may assume that those materials mentioned above, are more related to helping me get ideas (together with the appropriate cocktail), rather than being building materials. (note here, I prefer fruit juices, and no alcohol!). Back to topic: For puzzles to be mass produced, they first need to be prototyped which is very expensive. After that, many factors will decide whether it is worth for a puzzle to be prepared for the mass market. Some puzzles may have high prices, but we should be thankful for that, as otherwise, they wouldn't be available at all! Non-mass production is not the designer's fault. It is because of no demand. (now with marketing, this can change, but it also costs a lot!). Pantazis

Colossus puzzle has been finished in a record time! Right now, I am exhausted physically and mentally, with bruised fingers full of cuts, and a very sore back. But I just could not hold my excitement to build it. Now I can travel in a couple of weeks and enjoy my holidays without worrying about preparing anything else. And the hint: The Colossus puzzle was made out of EXACTLY 600 parts. Now I got to go, I badly need some sleep!!! Pantazis

Finally I can post in this topic because i've just got the idea of the century that will be a major topic in the forum if it will get done. -Hint #1 It's a higher order version of a mod -Hint #2 It's made out of a higher order version of a mass produced puzzle for which the mod has already been made. -Hint #3 MMB -Hint #4 The higher order version of this puzzle has not been mass produced Please do not say if you find the answer, PM me and I will tell you if you're right. Good luck though Greg BTW: Its higher order version of MOD but it's not a MOD considering I remade it on AutoCAD

here is a hint for a puzzle that is allready finished, but I can't show it right now.
It is currently located in my teacher's room at school. And it is most likely getting the higest grade.

It's a simple yet epic mechanism that enables you to make have-to-be-pillowed cubes unpillowed!
