It is more work than I thought. Before I go in holiday I want update this thread. First I want thank you all for your comments. A special thank you to Tony. Without his tips and tricks I saw in his construction videos of balls I never able to do this. Here is the picture of the Version 0.9. The stickering is finished for nearly 30%. Attachment:

Formerly text: With great interest I have read the discuss in Tony's thread (First Gigiminx Mod) about the Gigaball. Since two weeks I am planning on it. My first attemps with the DIY Kit were not good. They were extremely bad. No I have gone the way, to built a massiv Gigaminx by my own and make it round. On the picture you see the Version 0.8. It is a lot of work to do. The next step is to fill the air bubbles with milliput. After harding and sanding again I will make a video. For the sticker I need 4 or 5 days. I am planning a very special kind of stickering.

Wow Claus, that looks fantastic!!!! Couple of voids to fill in, but otherwise, it's great! I don't have the patience to sand something into a perfect sphere.

I think it can be done. Claus has basically altered time and space in the past 2 weeks! What else can he do!

Yeah I agree with Tony, if that thing was a cube4you brand, it would be next to impossible to turn, I hope that it was a good turning gigaminx

WOW, another gem Claus. I think my forearms and hand would be screaming in pain if I did that much sanding. I look forward to seeing it stickered, but I don't envy the stickering process. Beautiful work.

This is amazing! I do have one question though. Since you casted the gigaminx, wouldn’t it have been easier to round the pieces on cad before you got them printed, Or did you use already existing masters.

Both the stickers and the puzzle look very challenging to make. They've both turned out great! I guess the fastest bit to sticker will be the Pacific Ocean

Have you calculated how many solved positions their are? Is their a way to accelarate the shifting of the contienents? I know exactly how many different ways I could solve it...0

definitely the a puzzle that I think is the best fit so far for globe stickers! Very beautiful, and awesome idea! Seems like much more of a challenge even to the original gigaminx.
