Someone else with a pretty big collection. That's amazing. I see a few Meffert's puzzles in one of the picture. He should join TwistyPuzzles!

I think he's a regular at the IPP's, I've probably met him. If I remember correctly, most of his puzzles are the non twisty type.

Just a couple minutes ago on Important Things with Demetri Martin, he was doing a segment called "greater than or equal to" where he compared things. He said, "A rubiks cube is equal to a drag queen... because it's really colorful but I don't wanna do it."

I've had this one for a while now, but my scanner has been on the fritz. It seems that President Obama thinks the U.S. economy is as difficult to solve as a Rubik's Cube. If that was true this place would be a freakin' paradise by now. -Grant

Quote: After being cast in bronze, and assembled, it was treated by being buried in a mixture of dirt, various acids and salts, inside of a hand made birch box designed to keep the environment moist, but also to allow some passage of air and water, for about a year. How interesting! It's been "fossilized" Quote: I’m still not satisfied with the cube as a project. I’ve been toying with the idea of launching it into the ocean using a siege engine of some kind, most likely a trebuchet or catapult. I rather like the idea of someone, hundreds of years from now, finding this object and having to puzzle out its origins. Imagine that! I bet Georges would love to get his hands on that cube!

Yes, there's even a separate line for pink colored memory sticks. Evidently that's to reassure AIBO owners!

Yes, there's even a separate line for pink colored memory sticks. Evidently that's to reassure AIBO owners! While I agree that they count it in an exaggerated way, those definitely aren't all the same thing. For example, the regular Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO Duo, and Memory Stick Micro are very obviously different just by looking at them. Sony, is just really good at spitting out proprietary formats... BetaMax anyone?

On the other hand, Sony is really bad at getting their formats accepted by the mainstream. Other than Blu-Ray, I cannot think of a single Sony-developed format that did not lose to the competition.

Actually, the porn industry chose HDDVD (because they write the same way, no new equipment needeed)...
The gaming industry chose BRD's.

Aye, but how can it be decided to which was more influential?
Sony basically put its format in thousands of homes, and why would you buy HDDVD if you already have BRD? IMO, more "regular" viewers want HD then porn viewers.... if that makes sense.

Maybe because people didn't want to buy a 360 to watch porn? Instead, they can get a Blu Ray player? Which also is part of the PS3. I dunno.... but well, there's more people watching porn than you'd probably like to think. Just bear in mind - for god knows how long - porn was the number 1 searched thing on the internet.

Consulting Wikipedia, VHS was developed by JVC.
As for DVD:
In 1993, two high-density optical storage formats were being developed; one was the MultiMedia Compact Disc (MMCD), backed by Philips and Sony, and the other was the Super Density (SD) disc, supported by Toshiba, Time Warner, [Censored. Please be nice!] Electric, Hitachi, Mitsubishi Electric, Pioneer, Thomson, and JVC.
DVD is more closely related to the SD Disc, and Sony was involved in DVD's development AFTER abandoning MMCD.

Why is that word censored? I went to look at the wiki article to see what it is and there's no reason it should be.
