OK, so I've come to the site to check out what's new, and I'm seeing that I strolled into a construction site! All good, just wondering if the "user ranking" thing is going to stay up, or if its just part of the renovations? Personally, I like not having it around. Just my 0.02 though

I regret that the button "Mark all posts as read" is no longer available. I see the new button "Delete all board cookies", but I don't want to delete my login cookie at the same time.

I liked the removal of the ratings because it slowed down the number of posts on the forum. I think it's because some people wanted to up their post count to get a higher rating so they would post a lot even if what they posted didn't have any new information.
I used the "Mark all forums read" for the threads that I didn't want to read because I wasn't interested. It cleaned up the amount of threads that had new posts in them.

We're just in a transition. Some of the changes from previous months are temporally reverted. Stay tuned. Rank will be removed again unless Sandy prefers otherwise.

I could care less one way or the other, but it seems to me if every one has their rank listed we may go through that +1 posting garbage again and then the board will really fill up with drivel. For this reason alone, I think maybe it should be viewable only by looking at a persons profile. just my 2 cents worth.

We went through this last time and we all casted a vote to get rid of the rankings. I'd hate to see the community go through that again (the bad times).

New user doesn't like his noob status, so he combs through the site and bumps 50 ancient posts with words of wisdom like, "cool", "sweet", "LOL" and other useless drivel. BTW, I'm a 6x6. WOOT! LOL

If you have to ask, you'll never be a member. Sorry, that's the rules. I'm not high enough to change them yet. I can't even find out how many more "tasks" I have to accomplish to be able to.

Aren't they just! I've been here for dogs years and am not a member. My "build" just wasn't good enough If there were a DMB, I would be on it. Why all this speculation? Are you afraid you're missing something. I'm not. It's funny that the people who speculate on this are all the ones who aren't "dedicated members". I'm dedicated and don't think Sandy is hiding something from me. Other than an R2D2 puzzle! If you're ever in the mood to let that see the light of day.......Send it to me and I'll do a comparison!

R2D2? You mean the official rubik's R2D2 prototype? (Not the Kelloggs one)

Uhm, weren't you an 'original' member? Here before 'Twistypuzzles.com'? I think that already qualifies you as the First Lady of the DMB!

In all seriousness I do own one. But I don't know how many exist. It is a prototype, coloured with no rubik's logo or manufacturer markings. I thought I had posted a pic somewhere years ago. Shame on me if I hadn't.

Eh, i like the visible post counts to be honest. I'm mostly a lurker so it's not going to make me pull my post count way up...i just like seeing post counts and ranks. Just gives me a clearer estimation of how active certain members are and have been.

I have also always wanted to know how and where you got it.

Yeah I never went into details. And the photos, I used to have them on the megasite. They must have got lost at some point. Actually there was a post... I'll see if I can dig it up.
It was given to me as a gift on an international visit a few years ago.
