As moderator of the puzzle database I am processing a bunch of queued up database edits. From time to time I will need help confirming proposed edits, and this is the thread I will use to ask for people to confirm, reject or clarify any issues I can't answer myself. I figured the Puzzle Collecting thread would be the right place for it. So let's get started with the first question:

There are a number of different Dominos, and we have some excellent pictures and information in various threads about them. What I haven't seen yet is information on the Inventors. I know one is a Rubik's product, but was it invented by Rubik himself, or just sold under his name? Would this be the Spindle (presumably) or Groove? (not likely the Russian...). If not the Groove, who is the inventor of the Groove Domino?

I have an edit of the Groove Domino mechanism entry that adds Erno Rubik as the inventor, but I am not confident this is the case and don't want to approve the edit until I can confirm it.

Thanks,

Dave

P.S. Look here for more questions to come. Also, if you want to help with the Database in general, see this thread.

Patent Number: US4378116
Popular Name: Magic Domino
Inventor(s): Ernö Rubik
Date Issued: March 29, 1983
The 3x3x2 Rubik's Domino. Two mechanisms are suggested - one with a six armed spider (four of which are sliced in half vertically and terminate within the body), and one that dispenses with the spider in favor of a tab-and-groove mechanism.
