I was watching the movie Good Will Hunting, and after about 25-35 minutes into the movie, right after Will solves a problem with the professor, you see the assistant of the professor sitting by a desk, an on the desk is a paper thing shaped and colored exactly like an Alexanders star. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNwVdc7E ... re=relatedYou can see it at the very end of the video on the left.

I think it is just a paper model of the polyhedron (with a quite complex name) that the star is based on. It doesn't look at all to me like a alexander's star, as I'm missing black plastic and stickers. And also it is the wrong size. Quite a funny find though. You need to be a really quick thinker to notice hat.

Since Flash is completely broken on my system, would someone mind taking screen shots from the recently posted YouTube videos showing the noted puzzles?

At the end of the first Russian thread, they seem to have posted much of the early parts of *this* thread And did I just see Will Smith sitting there with a solved cube and a timer saying 0:55? Did *he* do it, or was he the audience, baffled by the expert's quick time?

I don't know if anyone watches Zero Punctuation, but basically what it is is video game reviews with little animated videos. Anyways, any time he mentions the word "puzzle" then usually there is a picture of a rubik's cube. In this particular video he actually mentions "Rubik's Cube". See the video for more details.

Charlie Epps from Numb3rs has a cube on his desk in episode 15 of season 5 (about 30' into the show). Some of the stickers have been peeled. What a cheater! Attachment:

Hello, There is a Rubik's key-chain in the trailer for the upcoming spy movie "Duplicity". It's a simple configuration generated with L R' B2 F (starting with F=red and U=yellow) and solved with F' B2 R L'. I wonder if it is an important plot element... See http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/duplicity/ for the whole trailer in a variety of sizes. Skarabajo.

I was watching TV and a Time Warner commercial popped on. It was like "Don't think cable is a puzzle" and it had a Rubik's Cube with different cable pictures on sides and its just spinning and being solved.

There was what looks to be a Void Cube in United States of Tara (Season 1 Episode 6) on the coffee table of the boss's apartment of Kate (next to the blue glass).

The Onion: "Giant Crabs post no threat" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Uq9pp586AENear the end of the video, they comment saying one of the baby crabs solved a Rubik's Cube that was left on a table. I thought it was funny that I found this video as soon as I clicked off of TwistyPuzzles.

Call me crazy or OCD but JEEZ look at the simple mistakes in the mech design on that shirt. All the blue corners are still in place, so the one lying next to the cube is what, an extra? And the edge piece is stickered as if it were a corner. That's a great shirt and I like the design, but they haven't paid attention to the details and it killed it for me.

It wouldnt suprise me if they did that on purpose, to avoid any problems with Rubik's. Probably not though... Rubik's would say, "Hey give us money for using our cube on your shirt!" And they would reply, "No, its not your cube, look at the mechanism, its completely ridiculous. I mean c'mon, it has 9 corners. That sir is obviously not a cube, therefore, it cannot be a Rubik's Cube"

I was going to say something about the corner, until I noticed the edge pieces with the sticker on the SIDE.
Then I realized they didn't take the shirt seriously.
