you guys have produced some very nice pictures of the insides of some great puzzles. one which im curious about though is the megaminx. my suspicians were that it looks a little like a 3x3x3 cube kind of idea, but ewe meffert warned me not to open it. has anyone tried this? (or done it accidentally?)

Call me naturally curious. I opened up a Supernova (very similar to a Megaminx) a while back and the mechanism looked as one would think. It has 12 spokes in the center which holds the 12 rotating centers. All the other pieces just fit together, similar to the Rubik's Cube.
I'll see about getting pics up of the interior mechanism of it, but honestly there isn't much to say about it. Very straightforward.
