This is my original Magic octahedron That I recently got. Does anyone else have one? Post pics of yours if you have one (or if you have another octahedron. I wanna see what members have an octahedron, which type, and if it is rare or not. I think mine is rare.

Alltogether octahedrons seems to be quite rare, but this should be the most common type and usually goes at over $100 at eBay.

But there is another nice octahedron in my collection: Meffert's Diamond Skewb -- seems to become more famous and valuable at the moment:



But lately, I favour the 2x3x4, 2x4x4, 3x3x4 and 3x4x4 cubes I have bandaged from standard 4x4x4s for solving and playing.

Does anyone know whether there is an "official" color scheme for the standard octahedron/star puzzler? I noticed that my octahedrons all have different color patterns. Two of them (including the sealed one) have red opposite orange, blue opposite yellow, purple opposite gold, and white opposite green. But their color arrangements are still different, since the sealed one has a red-blue-gold-white corner (going clockwise), while the other one has a red-blue-white-purple corner. The third octahedron has red opposite orange, blue opposite green, purple opposite yellow and white opposite gold, and the corresponding corner is red-blue-purple-white.

I just discovered that Aleksey asked a similar question in this post a few years ago, so I guess there might not be any standard color arrangements for the octahedrons.
