Just thought I'd share a site discovery I stumbled upon today. The Private Message Inbox Capacity has been increased from 100 to 300.

I'm not sure if this just happens to be a temporary change that was supposed to go by unnoticed or if this is a permanent change. I'd love for a clarification from an Admin if possible.

Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know when this change took place?

I noticed it but didn't think much of it. By the way, is that the limit for total number of PMs or can you have as many folders with 300 PMs each as you want?

This is all my fault. I was running a bit short (to the point were two week old PM's had to be deleted), so I requested some more space. Apparently I didn't just get the extra space, but everyone else did so too.

The limit is 300 for each folder.

I'm not complaining.

I have a handful of PMs I am keeping for prosperity, and now that takes up a much smaller section of my inbox, which I only get around to cleaning out once I reach 98% or so.

Plus I've had important conversations that end up being 30+ replies, which takes up a lot of space, or used to. After the last layout make over the 'Message history' feature was added, which means you only have to save the most recent PM and you can still read all of the conversation prior to that message as well.

I noticed and I'm so happy!!!

No more need to delete when you get a new one

YAY!!! I had to delete some pm's a few weeks ago because I ran out of space...I like to keep them for future reference, but I did notice that I can export them as well...haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure if I get close to the 300 mark I'll definitely be doing that

Ooops, I didn't mean for that to be a secret. When Tom asked for an increased way back when, there were about 30,000 PMs using about 18 megs of database space. I tripled the limit figuring that if it grew to 90k PMs using 54megs, it wouldn't be a big deal. Naturally I reserve the right to scale it back (with apropriate warning) if the database resources get over-taxed. I believe my host has a rather small database size limit of 300 megs (out of a software potential of 4 gigs). We're at 210 right now.
