I have been asked to post this by Sven1991 on the Cube4You forum. He doesn't have access to Twistypuzzles, and asked me to post the following: Quote: Hi guys So I can't join twistypuzzles after emailing sandy and some others, so Frank(flambore) helped me out here. I just made a custom square-3 (bump-2). Its a square-1 with a bump side and cuts like a square-2. So I need some attention on the ebay auction and I want to know what you guys think of my build! auction link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170260874823Happy bidding!

He reads the forum, he just can't post to it, so I'm sure he'll see the comments. I agree. Really nice puzzle.

(as requested by Sven)
*bump*
Auction Ends 20-09-2008.
Current bid is only a dollar. I think this is because he had to get rid of the word Rubik's from the description. Now it's not getting the hits he wanted.

What's this about closing an auction because of using the word Rubik's in the title? I did the same with my ultramorphix. Is this a violation of some rule? I've seen it done many many times...
Very cool puzzle by the way.

The rubiks brand is a trademark. If you use that word, ebay thinks you are implying that you're product is made by rubiks and if it's not then this is a violation of the trademark. However, I believe someone said that if you put it in parenthesis and say something such as "(rubiks-like)" then it's fine because that tells ebay that you aren't trying to say you're item is made by rubiks.

Danny Devitt wrote: "rubiks-like" Those were exactly the words that I used a couple of years ago. Ebay still removed my auction. I guess it is also a matter of luck because I know cases where people used the above terms without problems, but I also know other cases beside mine where the auction was removed. Now if you say " original Rubik's cube which has been modified" they can't do anything. But then, some buyers may claim it's misleading... (because it is!) Pantazis

Sorry, I meant to bid on this but didn't check until too late (sounds like I need to keep up with the forum better, I find myself skipping threads these days). The work that went into this was worth well more than $31, and I hope your friend isn't too put off of puzzle building/selling by the results. Congrats to the winner for getting quite a deal though. Dave

Yes I agree this auction didn't go as I expected. I figured it would have went a lot higher than it did. Timing seems to be a big thing, and maybe it's a bad time for square 1 mods.
