Thanks for posting the picture of the Gripple. I have not seen it before and have not seen it offered on ebay. How does it work? Do you just order the pegs?
It sort of reminds me of a puzzle I just got called "Switch" from Mag-Nif. It has 4 green and 4 pink pegs on a zigzag track and you have to transpose the pieces.

I haven't seen one of these for real but it seems easy. The object is to place the 16 circles in order like a fifteen puzzle. The top right four circles can rotate as well as the top left four and the lower right four and the lower left four and the center four. The center four rotating is what causes the puzzle to mix up. Not too challenging. One should try the TRILLION puzzle if one likes this one. Michael

I just found a (DOS) program that simulates the gripple puzzle, though the pieces are only coloured and not numbered. http://www.palmettobay.com/

The circles rotate in groups of four. You have to get the colours in groups as well as getting them in numerical order. Kind of like the 15 puzzle except that it doesn't slide. It's not terribly difficult but it is nice and relaxing, and not such a strain on the brain.
I picked this up from our local church creche. The kids were using it to dig sand with! Gasp! Once I got it cleaned up ok, it was fine.
These seem to be a little rare. My friend has one and I do as well, but I've never seen them around anywhere else.
