I serve our members a new idea (to the best of my knowledge) as inspiration :
Can you make a magnetic pen with the adjustable magnetic force ?
I wanted to use it for my puzzle, but I could not make it (having not enough abilities).
It is better having two switches, one can turn the magnetic power on / off; the other can adjust the magnetic force.
If you had made it, please sell one to me. If you know where I can buy it, please tell me the contact. If you have not thought about it, when you achieved, please give one to me as gift.
If the idea is novel, it is still not patentable , because I disclosed it here.
Thank you.
Daniel

I wouldn't bother with an on/off. However, adjusting the power, is probably just a matter of adding space between the object and the magnet.
If you placed a strong bar magnet inside a plastic casing of some kind (almost exactly like a ballpoint), with a spring forcing the magnet away from the tip, this could be a default "off" position. The further you push the "clicky thing" of the pen down, the closer the magnet gets to the tip of the pen, therefore, the stronger your magnetic field at the tip.
You could probably even make use of the "click to lock" feature of a normal ballpoint to lock the magnet into the "on" position to free up your thumb.
Go to the stationery store, and pick a suitable pen to mock it up with. Can't be that hard for an inventor type like yourself.

Thank Sandy again.
I need a very sensitive magnetic pen which can distinguish the thickness of the Bible paper. And I hope it has the wide range of magnetic power - Very weak ¡K. Weak ¡K. Medium ¡K.Strong ¡K. Very Strong.
Your solution is good, but not convenient for the player who want to fix the magnetic power at a special level for some time and turn on/off frequently.
How to use electric-magnet instead of permanent magnet for this pen ?

If you wanted to use an Electromagnet, you would need a so called "fat pen" i use them in school, they cost about $7.00 They have something like a 20mm diameter. You would use maybe a watch battery to do this, and a simple dial to raise or lower power.
Daniel- Does this pen have to write as well as be magnetic?

Thank tyler.
Pen-Shape would be O.K. It is convenient for holding, not need to use it for writing.
This Adjustable-Magnetic pen is an option for the player who bought my DYNACUBE Puzzles (3-N & 3-S Version, or Magical Attractor Version).
If we have the special pen, we can use the lettered Ferro-Stickers to play 3-D Crossword. We can put the pictured Ferro-Stickers to be the Outer-Covering of a special model formed by these 3-D connectable cubes as well.
Sorry, the Ferro-Sticker seems a coined word. The Definition :
A Ferro-Sticker is a piece of paper, contains ferrous material within it, or ferrous substances which contain size-reduced magnetizable metals (such as Iron powder or Iron sand) have been attached externally to the face of the sticker; the Ferro-Sticker is not self-adhesive, but magnetically adhering; the Ferro-Sticker is used for making image on the face of a magnetic cube, magnetic tile, or any solid object that has magnet on its surface with the polarity facing out; the Ferro-Sticker is able to be attached on or removed from the magnetic connector easily.
